Do your self a favor, and don't waste your money.
I Just received this product today and without even taking it out to the range, I am despised that I was fooled by false advertising. Before I even start to discuss the abundance of reasons why this sight should never be purchased, I will even explain the reason why you should not trust this company, "dagger defense". Simply put, I asked a question about the red dot that anyone selling a red dot sight should know... "Does this sight co-witness with iron sights?" The answer I received was false information. Now I'm paraphrasing here, but the seller answered my question by saying, "after testing, the sight appears to co-witness with any mil-spec iron sights, and with the option to remove the provided riser, there are even more options to co-witness with any iron sights you may have" Now I was lied to... One way or another, either by #1- them telling me that the sights co-witness with iron sights, or #2- them telling me that they even tested the co-witnessing of the sights and iron sights to begin with, because it is not even close. (By the way, I do Have flip up mil-spec height iron sights). As you can see in the pictures I provided, the sight and the riser combined sit about a half inch too high, causing you to only be able to see the very tip of your iron sights. On the other hand, according to my other picture, when the sight is taken off the riser, it sits too low and is COMPLETELY blocked by the iron sights, even when flipped to the down position. (excuse the way my irons and the red dot are poisoned. I am using this configuration to show the issue mentioned above)Now, onto the dot itself... It comes in red and green with 5 intensity levels for each color. According to my first picture of the red dot inside the house, the dot is extremely dim and that is on the #5 setting, which is the highest. As I was aiming down the sight, I was curious as to how dim this thing could possibly get, knowing that the highest setting was barely visible in the house, and what j discovered was that the transition from setting 5 to 2 had ZERO change in intensity, then when you get to 1 it is nearly invisible. So it goes from "dim" at the brightest setting, from settings 2-4 it stays exactly the same, then at setting 1 it is nearly gone. Now you may be thinking that I had a defective battery, but I will tell you, that is not the case. After trying 3 different CR2032 3 volt batteries, the brightness did not increase even a little bit. Now my last picture is an outside picture of me aiming down the sight on the red setting to contrast better with the blue sky, at the highest setting of 5. What happened next is quite funny, yet absolutely pathetic... My plan going into this review was to take 2 pictures of the outdoors: 1 being in the opposite direction of the sun, and 2 being one a couple inches away from direct sunlight. That plan got shot down quick, when the dot was so faint that the camera of an iPhone 6 fully focused could not even pick up even a hint that the sight is even on!!! Mind you again, that I'm pointing the gun in the opposite direction of the sun. You'd think that you would be able to shoot with this sight outdoors, but apparently the manufacturers intended this to be an indoor range type of sighting system. Even though in the description it mentions something about "bagging that trophy buck." Besides the fact that nobody in the right mind would go out and deer hunt with an AK-47 or an AR-15, (which this red dot is intended to be mounted on) they definitely would not go out and hunt with a 1x magnification red dot sight. And in this case one that can't even be used outside because of how faint the dot is!! Too bad there are no indoor deer hunting trips available to the public, or else maybe this product could be for you after all.To summarize this review I'll point out the pros and the cons.Pros- 1. Amazon sells it, so I know I'll get a full refund when I return it.2. The only other pro that I can think of is that I got a sticker that is the size of a dollar coin.Cons- 1. Dot is not nearly as bright as it needs to be.2. Dot Cannot be seen or used if the sun comes up.3. Impossible to co-witness with iron sights.4. Included riser sits too high, and when it is taken off, it sits too low.5. The aperture's diameter is too small. Hard to look through if it is mounted further up the gun.The last con that I would mention is that the company claims many things in the description, none of which seem to be true. Including when it says this is a "high quality sight", or that "sighting in is never easier". Not even close to high quality first of all. Should be $15, not $40. And they have never made it harder to sight in because unless you have flip up sights, it will cut your sight picture in half with your iron sights. And even if you did have flip ups, you cannot even zero by co-witnessing to begin with.Overall terrible product, untrustworthy company, and very disappointing purchase. Please take my advise and do not make the mistake of purchasing this product from Dagger Defense.

Not impressed.
So far, I'm not impressed. The packaging seemed to be ok, but the optic had clearly rattled around enough to scratch holes in the bag it came in and the included sticker. Minor issue at best. Right on the box in clear letter is MADE IN CHINA- minor issue, but still would prefer made in USA.First major issue- height. With the included riser, the optic is too high for the mil-issue Matech BUIS I have on the rifle to see the front sight post. From the outside, the glass looks in the right place, but the problem is the internal projector, which is too thick to allow a clear line of sight. This makes the backup sights useless in the event the optic fails, it also makes it impossible to co-witness your optic to your irons, so zeroing is that much more difficult. Did I mention the riser is not quick-release and is screwed in with an Allen key? This means that if you needed to use your irons, you would have to unscrew the optic with an Allen key/wrench in order to dump it.Second major issue- the dot. Both red and green are clearly visible on the lowest setting. Even that is brighter than I would like. Anything higher than lowest for both colors, and the dot turns into a splash. You can still easily tell where it's supposed to be, but it washes out tour point of aim.Currently, it is mounted on a .308 AR platform. I have not had the chance to test fire/zero it. If it survives zero with a .308/7.62NATO rifle, we'll test it on a 12ga slug gun.On the plus side, the optic's housing and mount seem solid and strong, but should I decide to keep this little gem, it will still be getting tied down quite securely. That being said, I messed with this for about 2 hours yesterday and I'm less than impressed. This review currently stands at 2 stars for poor height compared to BUIS, bad dot, too bright internal light, and uncertain ability handle significant recoil. For proof, see attached photos. This review will receive an update as soon as possible.First Edit: just noticed today that the product description no longer lists AR-10 as a recommended weapon for this optic. This does not give me confidence in their product since they're willing to adjust their advertising before the review is even completed. I may jump right to test-zero with 12ga slugs or just send it back as it's useless for the rifle it's currently mounted to.Final edit: just took it to the range mounted on a .308/7.62NATO AR. I fired 40 rounds of ZQI 7.62NATO with the optic mounted. As the optic could not be co-witnessed, the initial five rounds were off the page/lost. Second burst I used four 1 square foot targets and aimed at the center point. As you can see in the attached photos, the initial impact was very high and slightly right of the POA. Three bursts later and I would call that more or less zeroed at 25 meters. Not a great BZO, but it beats Kentucky windage. The following 20 rounds seem to indicate the optic is not as high quality as DD claims. In total I fired eight 5-round sets at each nearby POA, usually a red circle, with the optic set at the lowest(clearest) red dot, except for the final two sets, which were fired to test the green dot. The more I shot, the farther apart and away from the POA the rounds spread. I then chose to test it on a 12ga Mossberg 500 firing rifles slugs, again at 25m. While preparing to remove the optic from the rifle, I noticed that while both riser and optic mount were screwed down tightly, the optic wobbled slightly on the riser, but did not seem to wobble on the shotgun rail.Again, the optic could not be co-witnessed. Trying to lollipop the dot to the front sight post (admittedly, not my brightest idea) without the riser and simply attached to the rail, resulted in the adjustment turret unscrewing from the optic turret. I then brought the dot to what I believed a safe near-middle of the field of view with the front sight post at the bottom of the field of view. The POA was a red X in the center. The POI was nearly two feet above that. I elected not to continue for safety reasons and promptly boxed the optic up.While I am no expert marksman, and this optic would probably be fine for some sporting purposes, I am not choosing to leave this on my weapon and will be returning it.Pros- low price, rock solid riser;Cons- unable to co-witness, both red and green dots too bright, red and green dots not aligned properly(did not share zero), rounds spread from POI within ten rounds of zero, optic wobbled when mounted to riser; With respect to the owners of Dagger Defense, I would seriously question the integrity of a product description that changes after questions concerning the product are asked. In addition, identical- verbatim- reviews for multiple products from the same company is at least suspect. I will not be buying from this company again and will advise against anyone else using or purchasing their products in the future.

When a "dot" isn't a dot
The media could not be loaded. Unboxing and First Look at the Dagger Defense DD22MI Red/Green 4 mil Dot Sight.Like most people, I attempt to save a bit of cash whenever I can and that is what I was hoping for from this reflex sight – a good product for a good price. At first inspection, that is not what I received. The actual sight housing is solidly built and without blemish. However, the “4 mil” dot is a complete mess. Looking at the dot in person, regardless of brightness level or color, it is a hollow left leaning star-ish shape. Serious about the hollow part as there is a clear hole in the center of the “dot”. At least there is no halo effect. Why is it so hard to produce a small dot?Pros:Positive clicks on the brightness dial.Easy to remove and replace battery housing.Crystal clear glass.Tight fit and match to the riser.Cons:Dot is not a dot - rather a hollow star shaped image that tilts to the left. Before I try to send it back, I am going to go out and run some rounds through it and see how it holds up to x39 or .223. I’ll let you know with an update ASAP.This is an honest review from the actual person who purchased the sight. I did NOT receive this from the company in exchange for any action(s) on my part. Any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for watching.- Admiralsolo
