This is the best DIY water purifier filtration system!
I've tried several different brands and models. Some of these were difficult to install (GE; gasket is too thick, so the lid is too difficult to tighten...even with a water filter wrench) or too expensive to maintain (Body Glove, etc.). THIS water filtration system by Kohler was unbelievably easy to install and relatively inexpensive to replace filters (~$50 each on Amazon). NOTE: I'm hyper careful with anything to do with water/plumbing or electricity. My preference is to hire professionals to touch these aspects of my home. However, I could not afford an expensive plumber. So, I studied YouTube instructional videos and did a lot of online due diligence. This Kohler Aquifer Filtration system seemed to be the right solution. After receiving the filtration system (and stopping by Home Depot to get some connector parts for my cold water shut-off split pipe (...one that fed into an old/unused Insta Hot tap) and also purchasing a Kohler brushed nickel water filter faucet (to replace the Insta Hot faucet), I safely installed this Kohler filtration system. It was relatively easy and straightforward. NOTE: leave yourself a few inches of space beneath the filter so that it can be unscrewed/removed when ready for replacing. I've used this system now for about 3.5 months. It is fabulous. (The reason why I got this filter -- I upgraded by refrigerator to a model that does NOT have any water or ice maker; I got tired of reliability problems. I wanted a long-life, reliable refrigerator (after my Samsung fridge started having problems after only 8 years!). The only potential negative -- my family so enjoys using the Kohler filtered water, that I'll likely need to replace the filter after 5 months (Kohler recommends every 6 months).

May Have to Install 2x to Avoid Leaking
Well, it leaked a lot, but after reading reviews I came across one that said to uninstall and reinstall, which I did. No more leaking!

Simple and effective
I like Kohler's simple product line - either the 1 or 2 filter model, and the 2 filter model is 2 identical filters in parallel for higher flow. That makes a lot of sense vs sacrificing the quality of your filters. I have used the 1/4 turn to lock cartridges for many years on my fridge, and I like how easy they are to replace, and they don't leak. The two filter model has WAY more flow than my fridge did. I also like that the filters came shrink wrapped. It all looks very professional.I had to have a plumber help install this and a new faucet because I did not have 3/8" supply from the shutoffs. (I had 1/2"). If you have 3/8, this might be a DIY job. Some things I don't like:- inlet/outlet not labeled on the _outside_ of the unit. You have to take the top lid off to see. This confused the plumber for a while. When you're paying $200/hr, make things as simple as possible. I drew an arrow on with a sharpie.- the plastic hoses weren't cut square on the ends. the plumber said it shouldn't be a problem, but I wasn't impressed.

Good DIY Project
Overall this is a good filter system, and a reasonable DIY project if you've got some wrenches. plumber's tape, and standard 3/8 connections.I took away a couple stars because the tee adapter supplied is plastic rather than the brass one shown in the product image. I couldn't get a good seal on the plastic adapter so I had to go out and buy a brass one. The blue tubes are also fairly rigid which makes the installation more difficult than it needs to be. Make sure that you connect the tubes and verify that everything fits before you screw the filter housing to your cabinet.

Very pleased - high quality
This replaced my original, older-model Kohler under-sink water filter - which is discontinued. Installation was simple and similar to my older model. The PVC tubing provided by Kohler plugged right into the drinking water faucet that I also bought from Amazon. You do need access to a wooden surface under your sink to attach the filter housing (screws not provided). You also need to install a stop valve on your existing plumbing (valve not included). ( If you are handy and have some plumbing experience, this can be installed by DIYers. Otherwise, call a plumber.) I only use the under-sink filtered water for drinking - I will probably stretch the recommended 6-month replacement interval for the filter cartridges. The two filters are piped in parallel - to reduce pressure loss through the filters.

Solid under the sink filter.
Easy to install. Can definitely taste a diifference in our water. Has taken that chlorine taste out almost completely. About 2mo in so fa so good. We'll see how long this 1st set of filters lasts. I like the recycling feature that Kohler offers for the old filters instead of just throwing in the trash.

Dispendieux

Works well on inline cold water tap
This filter works very well on my inline cold water tap in the bathroom, eliminating the need to install a separate tap. I did check with Kohler beforehand to be sure they were okay with this setup, and they are fine with it. I would suggest this only if you don't use a huge amount of cold water, since otherwise your filter life will be short. Water pressure and volume is good, not great, but certainly adequate. Installation under the sink is a bit of a challenge since there isn't much room and I wanted to install it high enough so it didn't take up shelf space and could change the filter easily when required. Eventually got it where I wanted it and the lines were super easy to hook up. I've only had it for a month so not sure how the filter life is going to work out, but seems fine so far.

Original replacement part.
The product is a genuine replacement part and far exceeded the performance of a less expensive one I bought before. The generic did not work at all.

Super easy to install & good flow
As the title states - very easy install & good water flow. Our default pressure is very high, and this filter system only takes the pressure down a bit.

Inconsistent life span
Still too expensive for water filter. Hit and miss on how long they last. Some slow to a trickle after 3 months and a couple have lasted the advertised 6 mo. At over $80 bucks per filter I expect more.
