The feel of the laptop can be a bit strange to someone like me who was used to a MacBook, but after a while you learn to love the rubbery, soft feel of the keyboard. The machine is of course very fast and powerful (see the technical specs for those details). I use it mainly for creating 3D animations and video games in Blender and Unity, and it runs very smoothly and builds products fast. I also play games such as Hitman 2 and The Witcher 3, although I tend to tone down the texturing and other non-core graphics because a bit of lag can occur (this might be due to background processes because even these intense games run best after a fresh restart).The OS is Windows 10, and I'd recommend getting McAfee Livesafe (ie Firewall, virus scanner/cleaner, and app updater) although since McAfee has never found a virus on my system after a couple of months of intense use, both on and offline, you could argue that you don't really need it. Windows 10 does have decent builtin firewalls and defenders too, to be fair to Microsoft.You can assign 5 keys to a "macro", which for 95% of people just means a sqeuence of keystrokes, such as [\, n] or [WindowsKey, p, o, w, e, r, s, h, Enter]. This is useful for coding (eg common code snippets) or for games (eg common combinations).You can also change the colours of the neon lights around your keyboard, the left and right base lights, and the monitor side lights. You can even config the speed of glowing effects, if you so wish. This is a cool feature, although the novelty probably wears off after a while and you just stick to a kind of alien-green theme with pink highlights. Maybe that's just me,

I bought the R4 8950HK 16 GB DDR4 15.6in Full hd Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X version. at the time it was £2899.99 new. I haven't regretted it and I wont be looking back to my old Core i7 3630qm laptop. This boots my old laptop out of the window and then some.For those looking for portability, this probably isnt for you. Why?....this laptop is designed from the outset to be an out and out gaming laptop. It's also very heavy. i do take mine out with me to family's homes but you will know about it. Also, make sure you insure your purchase too.I ran a benchmark on a driving simulator called Assetto Corsa, and the laptop ran the game at a amazing average of 222 Frames Per Second (abbrivated as FPS). WOW!.When you recieve the laptop you really do have a feel of quality, In time to come i wont be buying another brand of laptop as this blows the rest away. The keyboard is precise and has great feedback.The screen is exellent and doesn't suffer from reflection when the sun is on the screen. I would reccomend a laptop stand. (the laptop stand i'm using has 5 Fans and even under 100% load still keeps the laptop nice and cool.I love the fan system built into the laptop, It has 6 vents to get rid of the hot air away from the main componants, this is vital for longevity. You would need to keep these vents clear at all times for optimal cooling. This alienware gets up to 100ºC without doing anything. It enters Thermal Threshold and you need to cut the processor permformance in order to not overheat it. For nearly £3000 it's definitely not worth the money. It is very loud and it overheats.Which is even worse is that I issued a return and after a month and a half I still haven't received my refund.Please avoid this seller.

The build quality and keyboard are amazing. The metal chassis makes this heavy but extremely rugged, so perfect if you require a powerful PC from time to time on the go and it helps keep the processor cool too. The graphics card is a 1080 max-q so its performance is more like a 1070 but its super quiet and doesn't overheat. You can easily undervolt the i9 processor with Alienware software and that also keeps the temperature around the 50's when overclocked. This is an incredibly fast CPU for process intensive work but not the perfect choice for gamers. The 15" monitor has a very high refresh rate and is super bright so very useful for working outdoors but the RGB gamut could be better. An R5 version of this laptop is available. Expensive purchase but I'm VERY happy with it.

The ultimate gaming machine! Despite being expensive, this machine will provide you with all the power you need to work on demanding applications , multitasking and play with your favorite games. The laptop cover is made of steel and the shape looks amazing. I recommend it for every gamer.

The capabilities of this product go far beyond the expected. I am using it for machine learning tasks. Its characteristics are suitable for hard work. No regrets.
