We're glad you've asked! We don't recommend using these to clean up spills, as our Sweeper Dry cloths are made for attracting dust, dirt and hair. These pads have an oily/waxy substance on them that leaves a residue? What is it? Is it safe for skin, breathing?

Since safety is at the heart of all we do, we can assure you that all of our products have been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. Our Swiffer Dry cloths do feature a trace of a special treatment that helps the cloth hold onto particles. The treatment contains petroleum-based components such as microcrystalline wax and mineral oil. In normal usage conditions, such as using the product with normal (i.e. light) hand pressure, there's no risk of coating transferring to the surface.
