Works as intended, no complaints, good price
As advertised, installed easy, had both short and tall plates for any PC need. I had a Small Form Factor desktop that the onboard sound chip died mysteriously (checked dirivers, rolled back drivers, uninstalled, reinstalled, drivers, then windows) so i ordered this, swapped for small plate, installed, threw in driver disk and woola! Great sound with no fuss and for low $. very satisfied and would recommend.

Windows 10 drivers are not available and This product will NOT work with windows 10
The card came in a totally empty box - no instructions, no links to a driver download site - nothing but the card itself. The description on Amazon clearly states "CMI8738 Chip (Driver Need Download) " but a 1+ hour search came up with nothing other than sites 1) offering a *free* driver download that required registration with a credit card membership (free for 30 days and $40/month if you don't cancel before the 30 days are up - Nope - been bitten by this before); 2) Many of the sites also trigger a malware or virus alert; 3) sites may also list options for all Windows OS EXCEPT Windows 10Problem appears to be that the CMI8738 Chip does not have drivers available anywhere, including windows. This is probably why there are lots of cards using the CMI8738 Chip available for around $20 - none will work on Windows 10.When I talked to Product support via Amazon's link on the Your Orders Page, the tech listened to the problem and then offered a refund immediately. No offer of solution, just a refund. I asked him how to return the board and was told to "discard it" and when I asked for confirmation "throw it in the trash".IMO, all of the cards like this should be removed from Amazon's inventory except that they probably work fine as long as you're not using windows 10. Certainly they should all have a caveat statement in the description along the lines of "NOTE: THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT AND CAN NOT BE MADE TO WORK ON WINDOWS 10"

happy - just use win 8 32bit or 64bit driver for win10 user
my MB audio broke and I just needed audio for my win10 64bit computer.I downloaded drivers from the link above( didn't come with CD) and installed win8 64bit driver to my computer.it works perfect for my computer, I got the sound back. I didn't test 5.1 speaker out. I don't need that much sound from this computer. as long as I got the sound for my computer, I am happy. stereo sound are not bad. actually pretty good.

Only buy if onboard audio broken and need quick, cheap fix
Don't buy this if you can't download the driver through a 3rd party software, the cd it comes with is not for Windows 10 but they are generic drivers. Also, only buy if your motherboard audio doesn't work, I only bought this because my onboard broke and it really is what you get for the price.

Ehhhh.
Drivers come on mini cd so only certain drivees will take it, no company website under this brand, ended up finding it under part number and the newest drivers were from windows 7

Software or Card has significant issues
The quality of the card itself is a little on the low end. Mine does fit into the slot on the mobo, however puts some stress to the socket. Now to the rest of it:1. Sound comes out on the wrong speaker, e.g. front left is on the right speaker and visa versa.2. The only sound that exits correctly (I think) is the center and sub woofer (that's a plus)3. The software supports 6 ch output, but I have no clue as to what it really does.4. For example: 5.1 usually uses 6 speaker or channels.5. The rear, at some point, I got to produce sound, don't ask how, besides it was on the sub woofer channel.6. If you test the rear speaker (I assume that's what the symbols mean), I can hear something from the front with super imposed echo. Perhaps that's what they mean by surround sound. In short, either the card or the software is totally messed up.I inquired about this, got a standard reply that you can find on the product page. (copy and past) My follow up did not produce a reply. As they say, you get what you paid for. This is very much true, but in this case, you get even less than you paid for.I would expect, the card to at least route the sound to the correct speaker, but it wont do that. (my speaker are fine since they used to work correctly, prior to this card) After three days of fiddling around, I gave up and cut my losses. Thought, I'll save a few bucks, since I have hearing loss on my left side and can't hear stereo anyway. As it turns out, I threw $18 bucks away. Went and ordered a Creative, hopefully this one sounds better and works as expected. There must be something going on with computer sound devices, my onboard worked for 2 month and then decided to go into silicon heaven.

No Drivers
For a a Plug and Play device, Windows 10 didn't like it. It did not comes with any drivers and is useless.
