Great build, but flexy frame
This is for my almost-three year old boy. It's a tad bit big for him, but doable. It's a fantastic balance bike. I knocked off one star because it's really flexy. As my son trots along, the bike flexes side to side. It doesn't kill the rideability, so if you're ok with that, it's a five-star bike. The seat material is also pretty grippy. Good for the kid staying on, not so good for keeping clean.Assembly was quick and painless. They provide the one and only tool needed: an allen wrench for attaching the front wheel. Read the brief instructions thoroughly before assembly and it'll be fine. Everything moves smoothly and quietly. Rear brake isn't super grippy, so it'll do a good job of slowing to a stop without locking up.

Awesome for my 2 year old
We did need the lowering kit, so don't ignore that if this is for your 2 year old or smaller 3 year old. My son is now 2.5 and still using the lowering kit.At first this is a bit awkward, but way easier than a pedal bike. My son put it down pretty quickly at first, but now he charges and he is actually balancing and rolling with ease. He gets around easily and happily lifts his feet on slopes and rolls with confidence, even down some minor "terrain" that has Mom cringing but him smiling. He chooses this first over his trikes and wagons. I am now convinced it is a good alternative to the training wheels pedal bikes.

Even with lowering kit, may be too tall for a short toddler.
Measure your child's inseam.I knew our toddler would be too short, but my husband insisted we gift it to her at 21 months old for Christmas.Poor husband. It took him a bit of time to put the bike with the lowering kit together and then she didn't fit on it.We are hopeful that she will fit in March when she turns 2.

Prefered over the traditional bike with training wheels
We got this for my son's second birthday and he was unsure about this for maybe a month. He walked it around for a few weeks and didn't want on it, but eventually started to straddle walk with it. Now he is pushing off to go as fast as possible and walking up the slight hill on our driveway to coast down. He's had it for 5 months now and prefers it over the bike with training wheels he got at the same time. We have had only one accident and it was a minor tip over (avoiding the dog) with no boo-boos.

Great balance bike!
I did a bunch of online research before settling on the First Bike for our 2.5year old. She fits well on it w/o the lowering kit and now a few weeks in has started to get the hang of how to use it. I like that it has a brake and the seat isn't slippery so she doesn't slide around while riding. Overall we're very happy with the bike!

Best balance bike on the market!
We gave the FirstBike to our son for his second birthday. He was so excited! He got right on and starting walking and beginning to learn to balance. He also fell, however the bike is SO light it didn't bother him one bit. I did a lot of research about balance bikes. Hands down the FirstBike is perfection! Expensive yes. Lifetime warranty and the lowering kit made every penny worth the cost!

My 2 year old's favorite thing!
My 2 year old LOVES this bike! We bought it as a Christmas gift when she was just turning 2, and bought the lowering kit as well. She is now almost 2.5 and is tall enough for us to remove the lowering kit. It took her about 6 weeks of consistent riding to really get the hang of picking her feet up and balancing, but now she's unstoppable! The bike itself was easy to assemble, and made of high quality material. The tube tires were a big selling point, and make it easy and comfortable to ride on various surfaces. She rides on the pavement, grass, and dirt nature trails with no problems. The tires also have plenty of give when riding down off the curb (never thought my 2 year old would be able to jump a curb!), and don't slip on gravel. I love that the body of the bike is super light, she can put it down and then pick it back up and get on it without any help from me.Overall I absolutely love this product and highly recommend it. It gives my toddler far more freedom and confidence than any tricycle or pedal bike with training wheels.

It is perfect! I love that the front wheel cannot pivot ...
My 2.5 year old loves his bike. It is perfect! I love that the front wheel cannot pivot 360 degrees, what a smart design.
