Life changing
This book is a bible. Such an easy read and goes by so fast. I picked it up at the airport not knowing anything about it and it changed my life. It touches on many topics, such as giving, taking time for yourself, discipline, purpose, etc. I found it really helpful because the book is structured as a conversation, so it doesn't feel like a list of instructions. It's very dynamic and flows well. Also, one of the things I liked most about this book was that it tells you a fable with lots of symbols, and the author examines each symbol in separate chapters, so by the end you are well versed in the fable and won't forget the teachings of the book. You can just keep reminding yourself of that little story. Truly a great bedtime book. Strongly recommend it for anyone.I would only say that the focus of this book are the lessons, and not the writing itself: it uses a very simple language, sentences, and is very literally objective.

Keep the model but change the fashion designer
I agree with a lot of reviews here which say that the writing/presentation fails to impress. As a veteran of Paulo Coelho,James Van Praagh, Neale Donald walsh, and Chicken Soup for the Soul books, I was not moved at all. I thought the book would follow the journey of Jullian through India, but no it's just Jullian talking n talking n talking. It's like reading a very long lecture. It would have been much better if instead of a long conversation with Jullian it would have been many short conversations maybe once a week and in between we could have seen John applying the principles to his own life. We don't see the change happening in John. We are not given a clear picture of John's life n what is wrong with it. We don't see how he benefits from the "wisdom" for Jullian. The ideas are great, but they should have been clothed better. There are many people out there who say the same things in much better presentation. If the state of Robin Sharma's best work is like this, then I am not doing to bother with his other books.
