I recently broke my heel after falling from a ladder. Two surgeries and a week in the hospital later and I am home and in pain. I already had a Donjoy ice therapy machine (Clear 3) from a friend and it broke after a week of heavy use. I almost bought the same machine, but decided to do some research and found this Polar cold therapy machine. I liked the cooler design and it was one of the only machines I found with a timer attached, which is nice because I can sleep with it on and not worry about it being on too long. It is also VERY quiet, unlike the Donjoy I had previously. If you watch the video, you can hear how quiet it is. You can hear the water over the pump. Because of the cooler design, it absolutely keeps the water cold all day long, which my wife appreciates because it's less times she has to change the ice. I did experience an issue with the timer after a couple weeks. I called the 800 number on the machine. Just like all the other reviews say, I was immediately greeted by a real person (Randi) who simply asked for my Amazon order # and verified my info. She sent me some troubleshooting tips in an email. Those helped me identify that it was the timer. My machine still worked without it, so I was able to use my machine again, and Randi is shipping me a new timer. Super easy. And way less hassle than returning the whole thing to Amazon and waiting for a whole new machine. 5 star customer service. If cold therapy is a critical part of your pain management and recovery, like it is for me, don't cheat yourself. Spend the money. Get this machine! You won't regret it.

Just had TKR yesterday and the Polar Ice machine has been a life saver. Love that it’s programable to turn on for whatever time and length you want in 10 minute increments. Used 16.9 frozen water bottles and the recommended water depth which I changed out every morning. Would highly recommend. Also just filed a claim for reimbursement with my health insurance company. Still waiting on a determination. Worth the expense either way.

Got this after a friend bought one for recovery following knee replacement. Got one for same reason. Absolutely love it! 6 frozen 500ml water bottles stay cold enough for relief all night. Light enough to move around if necessary. Got the big ice pad- it wraps whole knee area. Came with super long Velcro straps; called Customer Service to ask about shorter ones for knee. They shipped immediately - no charge! Awesome!! Now use the longer straps for lower back icing with the big pad. Timer works well, so does the speed (that’s the temperature adjustment, too.) Power cord and ice hose long enough to reach from floor to body easily. Highly recommend the device AND their service dept.!

I purchased this for help with healing from a knee replacement surgery. It is so simple to set up and use! The cord is extra long as well, so you can move it without needing extensions. I was expecting the motor to be loud, but you literally cannot hear it. Life saver for anyone recovering from surgery!

This is a great product!!! At 59 years old I think this is one of the must haves for people that are getting older and have the aches and pains, and medical things going on. I first was given this after a knee replacement but I have now used it to help with so many issues I've had. I also loaned out to my BIL for his rotator cuff surgery. After 6 yrs of using while I was in a rehab center one of my children put it out in garage and didn't clean it before storage and it got some mold in it. So I bought this one to replace it. This is the one I choose because of the versatility of purchasing the other pads for different issues!!! I will make sure I always have one from here on out.
