Why? On my '21 Jeep GC, there's a plastic cable shield that runs annoyingly close to where you have to work, but it simply needs to be unbolted/moved over to allow the mounting bolts to be installed, taking a bit more time. No biggie but it seems to me that's why. Drivers side doesn't have this. Pretty straightforward install and a million dollar payoff. They look good for the price. Adjustable in or out depending on what comfort of entry and exit you want.
