A wonderful and action packed ending
4 stars - It was really goodThe series finale is finally here and it was everything I could possibly want. It was suspenseful, action packed, and had a few surprises. Estep really did a great job at wrapping up this series with a satisfying ending.Gwen really steps fully into her role as Nike’s Champion in this one. She makes risky moves but does everything in the hopes of protecting her family and friends. She puts everything into this last battle and all the training really pays off. Also, she outsmarts Loki and the Reapers in unique ways that really worked for me, and the story. While Gwen is the main focus of this battle, each of the main secondary characters have their own part to play. Logan, Daphne, Carson, and the others never back down from supporting Gwen or from the final battle. Even Nickamedes, who is injured, finds ways to help in this final battle. Also, I really love how Nickamedes and Gwen’s relationship has changed throughout this series and he has become one of my favorite characters.I really enjoyed this final battle against Loki. It was a fierce battle that took everyone’s help to win, even with Gwen being the final deciding factor. I never felt like the battle was missing anything or was disappointed in the steps of it. It was just beautifully written and felt like a believable concluding battle in this terrible war.Overall, I really enjoyed this series and will miss Gwen Frost and her crew of misfits. I will definitely be picking up the spin-off series now though because I want to see if the other Mythos Academy is just as dangerous.

Amazing series - epic finale! Sad to see it end.
All the amazingness in the final book! It’s epic! Gwen’s journey at Mythos Academy has been an awesome experience, watching her grow from a geeky, quiet, unsure girl into a strong, vibrant warrior with a huge heart. She truly is a special character. All her friends, old and new, and the teachers that have been with her on her journey have been just as amazing. They’ve all grown from strangers and acquaintances to friends and family. Gwen’s final book is the hardest yet. The stakes are too high, all the odds are in the enemies’ favor, and they are set up to epically fail. This is where Nike’s champion stands strong, risks it all, and makes the ultimate sacrifice to save her crew and the world. This is the best of the best. Anger, heartbreak, tragedy, loss, resilience, friendship, family, and love. It all comes down to this final battle between Gwen and her gang and Loki and the Reapers. It’s a fantastic, satisfying conclusion to a wonderful series.

Killer Frost by Jennifer Estep
Killer Frost by Jennifer Estep6th and final book of the Mythos Academy series. YA paranormal urban fantasy. The ultimate battle pits Loki against Gwen and her friends.A tense and action packed novel from beginning to end. A shocking battle tactic and the ultimate sacrifice and win of good over evil. But how much of a win given the sacrifice? You’ll have to read it to find out!A satisfying conclusion to the series.

A killer read!
This time, Loki and his Reapers are going down for good . . . or she is...That ending nearly destroyed me...It slayed me so bad that I literally held my breath for a bit. But this book was everything and more. The only thing negative? That this journey has ended with the heroine and her friends and family. Finger crossed we get a novella with a glimpse of the heroine in the future with all of her family and friends.Full of gods, goddesses, champions, family, Gypsies, visions, magic, truths, secrets, creatures and romance.Perfect for readers of paranormal romances/urban fantasy romances/mythology reads.

So sad it's over!
I feel like all my favorite series are ending this year and it's slowly cracking my heart, with happy beams shining through of course. Killer Frost didn't disappoint me in the slightly and I couldn't be more stoked with how the end of the series played out.Jennifer Estep couldn't have made me happier with how all of our characters ended up. Daphne, Carson, Nyx, Oliver, Alexei, Nickamedes, and the whole gang is one I won't leave lightly because I heart them all so much. I also absolutely adore Gwen and Logan and couldn't love them more. Everything they've been through has boiled down to this final battle and I just want to squeeze them both. This series coming to an end is of course so bittersweet. It's been such a long journey with the whole Mythos gang and it's epic battles, hard aches, and of course loving moments. I don't want to let it go but alas with all good series, at some point you must and I'm happy to say that I loved this series and it's ending and couldn't be happier.

When a book gifts you with tears...
There is passion and poignancy embedded in these pages. An introduction into the consequences of adult choices and adult rewards. There is pain, power, and reality written simply starkly.Life is filled with all the silly and sappy. Cries of "Get a room!" cross with the frenzy of hormonal rushes. And it is vitally true that love comes when it comes, at any age. And love is a delight to watch. There is wisdom in a well baked cookie. And pain in every fight, in every life. There are as many hard choices as easy ones. And we all come to living, confused, doing our best in the moment.Thank you for the laughter, the tears and the bittersweet.

Killer Frost
Oh my gosh, if you haven't read the Mythos' Academy Series, you are missing out. I love paranormal, and I really got tired of all the erotica. This was a refreshing change from the norm for me, and am very happy that I picked it up.From the very first book till the last one, the author had me hooked. This ranks right up there with Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series. I was not bored at all.Usually YA has a lot of teenage angst that I can't get past, but not this YA! I actually teared up a bit when reading the last chapter, as I knew that was the end of the series. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.....have a spin off?

Killer Frost
Wow !!! What an end to the series . My only regret is I've finished them all so looks like I'll have to read them all again . This series was so enjoyable to read , and the books just kept getting better and better . Gwen does seem almost whimpy in the first few books but definitely starts to change as she learns about her powers and forms more friendships with fellow students and tutors . As for Logan ,well all I can say is were is MINE !! What a hero !!The storylines are well thought out and easy to follow but still a few surprises pop up here and there ( especially the last book and no I'm not saying a word ) .Altogether a fabulous series that should be read in order .A must read ...so start downloading the first and you will be hooked .Thanks Jennifer you've given me hours of wonderful reading .

“Free will is a powerful thing!” – the satisfying conclusion of the “Mythos Academy” series
Note: since this is the final book of the “Mythos Academy” YA series and all threads come to their respective ends, this is no place to start the series. If you're new to it, I recommend to stop reading here and start with “Touch of Frost” or the prequel novella “First Frost”.ReviewOne cannot possibly rate the final installment of a series and not rate the series as well. So to get it out of the way, I'll start with the series as a whole: I like it a lot – most of the time. The overall story arc was intricate and it's clear that J. Estep put a lot of thought into the whole plot, how it should develop and more important, how it was to end in a fantastical, yet believable fashion. So it all comes full circle and that's a good thing for any reader. Another thing the series did excel at for me, was the elaborate world-building. Once I got over my shock about the bold mixing of all possible gods and goddesses, I came to appreciate the thoroughness and how it stuck to its rules and was an active part of the story. The characters were the only part of the books, I was aggravated by at times – Gwen is cool, likable and I admire her sense of justice and how she does what is necessary, always knowing about the consequences and accepting them. And her friend Gwen, her cousin Rory and Nickamedes are plain awesome. So there are two things I disliked about the character cast: firstly Gwen's continuously taking the blame for... everything. Even if no one is able to even begin to understand how she could think so. And this is something happening in every single book. Not so great. And my least favorite part of the books were Logan Quinn and Gwen's strange kind of relationship with him. As she says herself at one point: they actually spent more time apart than together. Let alone happy together. I know how he is supposed to be the loving hero, but no, I just don't see it. I know a great lot of readers love him, but I don't. I think that his actions for the most part aren't very courageous [except for when being on the battle field]. And I read about the couple's feelings, but I don't see them. In “Killer Frost”, Logan actually isn't at his most annoying and I have to admit that there was one moment I doubted him [along with Gwen] and he turned out to be... reliable. So this is it, the last steps towards the final showdown between Gwen and Loki and the Pantheon and the Reapers. And I have to say, it doesn't disappoint. There are gripping twists and turns and I cheered Gwen on at every step of her way. Again she follows her instinct and just when I thought, “well how is that supposed to turn out any good?”, she surprised me at how sound her plan is and how well she plays her part. I loved that there isn't just one showdown everything else leads to, but quite a few epic moments. And not only Gwen shines, but her friends do as well. And say what you want, the way it ended was the only manner possible. It was ingenious and satisfying. I'm content that the story does not only come full circle, but that each and every open question was answered one way or another. This is why I can wholeheartedly say: minor complaints aside, this is one well done end of the “Mythos Academy” series!
