They are AMAZING. The distance we could see into the woods on full brightness was AWESOME. Also comforting, if we thought we heard noises in the woods since we were in the heart of bear country. It was great to see further into the woods than we have been used to. We don't need all the functions on them, like the flashing, or the SOS signaling (I had to actually have a serious talk with my sons who were SOS signaling into the sky in the woods thinking it was funny). So if you buy these for kids, make sure you tell them not to use that feature! The adjustable brightess was great too, so my teens could turn down their flashlights on bathroom runs and not light up neighboring campsites. My only complaint is that these flashlights are black. They are hard to find and locate when camping and hard to find in a backpack. I wish they had some brighter colors. But I feel completely satisfied with the money spent on this purchase. Small enough to fit in a pocket, but the output is almost as bright as a flashlight three times its size. It gets used every night to do a security check around the property. I like it because I can still carry things, without putting down the light like you need to do with a full sized flashlight. The switch function is well thought out, since a firm click turns it on and another firm click turns it off. No cycling through all five functions, just to turn it off. Dimming functions and others are accessed by a soft press of the switch, after the first firm click to turn the beam on. Variable beam is width is great, allowing you to quickly go from a wide beam to spot light. The holster is well made, but not something I use, since the light fits if a pocket so easily. Battery life is comparable with the other three AAA cell LED flashlights I have owned. I'll probably buy more of these, if they stand up to a couple months of use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars A good light for use when you need it. *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2020* It is a good bright light compared to a conventional bulb light. It is very bright and can almost be used as a tactical light.The problem when you turn it off, it comes back on in the next light sequence. For example, if you have it on bright when you turn it off, it is on medium when you turn it back on.
