It’s a good bike but a couple of big deal breakers
I would give this 3 or 4 stars but unfortunately the range is nowhere near what is claimed so this has just been a waste of my time unpacking, setting up and repacking the item. It claims 18-30 miles. Granted I used this on speed setting 5 but I would expect to get near the lower quoted range of 18 miles. I was almost getting 12 miles before the battery was depleted. This is consistent with another review I found online of a version with the smaller battery which quotes 12 to 20 miles. They were getting 7 miles which is the same ratio. I had pumped the tyres to the recommended pressure, ensured the wheels had little friction from the gears and brakes, not only that, but I found myself putting a fair amount of effort in despite the motor so it wasn’t as though the motor was even doing all the work. The design is nice, the build is good and the components are good. However the battery connection is flawed. The connection comes out of the bottom of the seat post where it is difficult to connect and gets covered in muck. Daily removal of the seat for charging is not a practical option. It’s easy to fold however it’s not as compact as it could be because it folds axel to axel, i.e. the widest point to the widest point. I would have preferred if the hinge was moved a few cm so the axels could fold so they are just inside the rim of each wheel. It would fold up a lot longer but slimmer which would be better. If you wanted a slim package then you can just not fold the frame but because the rear wheel doesn’t fold underneath then it would be quite long. I guess what I’m saying is, it’s not an efficient fold for taking on a train. It does ride well and a part of me really liked it so I don’t have an issue recommending it if you can live with the battery life and the battery connection. Unfortunately it only gets one star due to the wildly inaccurate range claims. There is no way you could get 18 miles at the highest assistance level. At lower levels the bike is just too slow and because it’s heavier and less efficient being electric, it’s just not viable without significant assistance.

Great bike and size, perfect for commuting
HiI love this bike it is absolutely amazing for commuting. The previous reviewer I am not sure understands that all electric bikes will have varied ranges depending on which level you use the assist on. But really I used to have a volt electric bike with 20" wheels just too bulky and big to lug around on trains - this is compact and smart. I just wish it had the thumb throttle

Fun, compact and great battery assistance
I absolutely love my Emu mini. It’s fun to ride, really sturdy and the battery assistance makes every ride effortless. It’s easy to store at home and fold into my car boot. Very happy with my purchase
