At this time 12 lbers were the largest caliber of long-barreled field pieces , and were used both at long range against fortifications and troop concentrations using round shot and against attacking infantry and cavalry using canister shot . As such the 12 lber was a favorite weapon of the Grande Armée . Later , redesigned 12 lbs were named after Napoleon III and found heavy use during the American Civil War . Where are the Instructions ? ? ?
Recieved my Mini Cannon promptly. I am impressed with the appearance and workmanship. When I opened the box, I could smell "Black Powder". To me, this suggested that the Mini Cannon had been fired prior to it being shipped to me. Perhaps part of the manufacturing process ? I cleaned the Mini Cannon with rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips. There was black powder residue in the barrel and powder chamber. It cleaned up very well. No problem. I would rate the product 5 stars ... however ... There was NO INSTRUCTIONS included with the Mini Cannon. I am troubled by the lack of instructions. Downgrading the rating to four stars because of the instructions issue.09-09-2018 Update: I did fire the Mini Cannon (No Projectile) using a small firecracker loaded from the breech. Loud and Impressive. Still looking for a small firecracker that is a good fit for the breech of the Mini Cannon.

Unique but no instructions
My husband was thrilled with this mini cannon. The only downside is that it does not come with instructions and there is no fuse. So, that is a bit of a guessing game. However, if your looking for a unique gift this is it.

Well made, looks sleek.
Was well made, sturdy for my purpose. I was not sure what to do with the accessories. The accessories included what appeared to be miniature cannon balls, which made me think the little thing actually fired. I purchased it for a new grandson named Cannon, and I wanted something that would last for years and was made well - spot on.

It is a very neat item however I didn't like that it didn't come with everything needed to fire it.

This little thing is pretty fun to play with. you need fuse and black powder. made my fuse with cotton thread and wet blackpowder and rolled it into the thread. Other than that you would need firecracker fuse as the hole is very small.
