8 Inch Kitchen Knife Stainless Steel Chef Knife with Black Pakkawood Handle Multipurpose Use for Home Kitchen and Restaurant

Although cooking is not my profession, I was trained by a third generation 5 Star Cordon Bleu Chef many years ago and have enjoyed being a gourmet cook for many years. Like most my first purchase was a professional set of knives and like most my choice was Wusthof, which are known for professional steel, sharpness and longevity. My Wusthof are now over 40 years old and just as serviceable as the day they were purchased.I saw this Tabnovo 8 inch Chef Knife and because of the low price couldn’t help, but see what it was like as it had the appearance of a high quality knife. I have to say the full tang knife handles beautifully, came very sharp and is holding its edge remarkably well. Add the finish and workmanship of this knife makes it an absolute bargain. The handle is made of an attractive impregnated laminate, which should hold up. Of course any knife of any kind of quality should only be washed by hand in warm soapy water, dried and then depending on the grade of steel possibly wiped lightly with cooking oil. Never put a good knife in the dishwasher!

Purchased for a present but now in my collection. This is a well weighted German steel knife that is sharp, has a great grip and is a pleasure to use. I am so happy with it that I am writing this glowing review. It really does rival my Wustofs and Henckels. Not comparing it to my Asian knives so as to avoid a apples and oranges comparison. I am a cook and that's the experience I'm using to judge it.

I got this knife today and I've been slicing all afternoon for Cinco de Mayo! I am delighted that I found a SHARP knife that fits my smaller hand. The weight, for me, is perfect. It comes in a box, protected with a wrap around sleeve. I would recommend this highly at this time. I hope the sharpness remains. It sliced through my tomatoes without smashing or crushing the meat. Love it!

This is a great knife. Very sturdy and impressive looking. My daughter said it didnt feel very sharp. I told ger to get a tomato out of the fridge cuz i knew they were really soft.Needless to say it slid right thru that bad boy like butter. She was impressed, as was I of course.Great carrying case.
