26 inch Mountain Bike Bicycle Wheels for Disc or Rim Brakes with Kenda Kobra 26 X 2.0 Tires and Tubes

This wheel set popped right onto bike and are true when spun. My box was damaged, but extra cardboard support in box protected wheels. Tires seem great for my application, but wish they had more studs.

My sons hardtail Fuji Nevada mountain bike was stolen at school a few months ago by a homeless person who removed all the factory parts and sold them off for drug money. We know this because thanks to a local police deputy who was doing a routine check of a homeless camp, he recovered my son's stolen bike. I had a local bike shop look it over and determined it would cost more to replace all the parts than to buy a new one. The wheels were the most expensive parts to replace and thanks to this set I was able to completely rebuild my sons bike on the cheap.These are great wheels. They come close enough to true that I didn't need to do any tightening of the spokes. The rotors for the disk breaks went on without any issues, and the cassette attached just as easily. We just got back from a week-long mountain bike trip in Southern Utah and my son put over 50 miles of downhill, and cross country riding, and even a few hours at a bike park doing jumps and these held up through it all.The one reason that this is a 4 star review is that the tires that come with the wheels are cheap and lack the tread to be considered mountain worthy. I was able to use the tubes that came with them but had to buy better tires from my local bike shop that would hold up to the terrain we would be riding through. The tires that come with them would be sufficient for neighborhood riding, or gravel, but not for serious cross country or downhill riding. Overall I am very pleased with the quality of the wheel set, and they look great on my sons bike. We've gotten several comments on how sharp his bike looks with them.

I grabbed these so I could experiment with wheel and tire combinations on one of my bikes. I'm pleased so far with them!They came out of the box "true" and didn't need any adjusting. Spoke tension was good, no wobble and the hubs were centered. Bearings appear to be well greased and NOT over-tightened like most bikes are. In all they appear to be good quality, stable and functional.Tires, as mentioned in another review, are thinner than what most people consider mountain bike tires, but they ride smooth, have decent traction. They are no worse than the tires that come with most lower end bikes, and better than most.The only negative I have on them is the rims are not welded or sealed on the butt joints, but appear to be sleeved from the inside. They seem strong and I was not able to budge them, but I would question their strength if you are really doing any downhill riding or jumping. For my purposes they should work great.
