Nicecho UPF 50+ Fashion Lace Umbrella - Sun Protection

It has absolutely zero sun transmittance. Which is something I look for in an umbrella since I have sensitive skin. It is very strong and has a little bag to store it in. This umbrella is compact and easily fits in your purse.It also has a beautiful clover on at the base. :)

Used my new umbrella for the first time today. The picture (purple) for this umbrella is accurate - it's quite lovely and with the black lining does a great job of shielding out the sun. However, I have to agree with others on the mechanics of this umbrella. I have other tri-fold umbrellas, and while they're not "auto" open (push a button), they do open completely when you push the center sleeve up to the top. This one does not. I have to manually unfold each of the eight spines, then push the sleeve up to the latch. And the opposite when closing, I have to fold each of the bottom spines back onto the umbrella in order to fold it up. This is very labor intensive. The photos here include the umbrella unsnapped - showing the canopy still folded. After loosening all the spines (photo 2), I push the sleeve up the pole to the latch. The canopy does not unfurl, instead the legs of each spine fold back to center. You must extend each leg until it latches into the mid-hinge clasp. Then open the canopy.I always use care went refolding an umbrella, so I didn't have trouble with getting the snap closure to work. Nor did I have any issues with putting it back in the cover sleeve.I did have an issue with the handle at the bottom. It seems a little loose, causing the umbrella to "wobble" in my hand when holding just the bottom handle. I had to hold the handle with part of the stem to keep it steady. Finally, the little decorative bead on the handle string came off and threading it back on was a bit of a challenge.This one's going back as a return.

This would be much better if it wasn't a "folding" umbrella. Let's be clear, this folds only in the sense of:1. The shaft telescopes.2. each of the 8 ribs has a hinge that you have to manually (8 times) snap loose and fold upward.I suppose it's grand for costume parties or if you leave the shaft fully extended all the time. But of you plan on folding this and putting in your bag, backpack or glove box, forget it. If you want this to be ready for either intense sun or rain, again, forget it. You will have to drop everything in your hands and go through the hinge-snapping process and extending the shaft. If that's because of rain, you just got soaking wet.It is charming. It is of really great colors.The mechanics of this are pretty bad, though, and not all that functional or efficient.There are a lot of reviews here that note how pretty this is (the aesthetics) but also acknowledge how much of a problem it is to actually use. I see people giving 4 stars for that. I can't reconcile 4 stars -- perhaps these reviewers want this for show and will not actually be using it outdoors on any regular basis.After my wife got soaked in a sudden downpour by pulling this out of her bag and wasting time trying to get it up, she handed it back to me and said, "This is junk. I won't use it." So i'm looking for another folding parasol that can be used for both sun and rain. This on is in the trash.

The BEST quality sun umbrella I have ever owned! I live in Southern California and used this umbrella straight out of the package on a 107 degree day with blazing sun for three hours at Sea World. Not only did I not get burned, tanned or lupus flares but it also kept me cool because of the extra protective layer inside the umbrella. This umbrella is not light weight but heavier in weight and it's okay because it WORKS! If you are in any way sensitive or allergic to the sun PLEASE purchase this umbrella because it will keep you healthy and happy. I now keep one in my bag and one in each of our cars. Fantastic product!

I ordered 'gray'. What I got was copper-colored with white lace overlay and a single edging of gray lace. The storage sleeve was the same copper with white lace.As others have commented, this umbrella 'opens' and 'closed' quite unusually and does require actual work. If closed like a traditional stick umbrella, then opening and closing from there forward is easy, although the storage sleeve can not be used anymore and since it's white lace, it needs protection. However if you open and close it as it came, you have to handle each individual arm of the umbrella to snap it into place, and unsnap it. It's a little time consuming but not impossible, however, I am concerned about it's longeviety because so much man-handling is needed for each use.

Super cute and perfect for southerners who don't want all that sunshine all the time! I wish I could have given it a 4 and a half because the only problem with it was that it's not the easiest to open and close. Not too difficult but definitely not something you can do in one motion. But overall, it came earlier than expected, the color was exactly as pictured (for the grey) and it is lovely and well made!

I have now ordered 4 of these. My first one was the silver. I always get complimented on it, and it's a fashionable way to avoid the sun. My mother-in-law used a regular umbrella in Spain to shield herself from the sun, and when I let her borrow mine, she noticed a big difference. This umbrella does a better job of trapping and blocking the heat, though you can't use it in rain. For Christmas, I bought one for her, my sister-in-law, and my adult niece. It's easy to fit in a purse, goes with many outfits, is beautiful, and is practical.

The umbrella looks nice. I gave it 4 stars as it is a hassle to open it. You have to click around the mid-part. It is just clunky to get it to open.

Very difficult opening. It took some time to get all the springs open. Beautiful parasol but not fond of opening it.

Returned!Before you use it have to spend 5minutes to fold down all siders .

The flower pattern looks tacky in person. This is mostly because of the glitter which is cleeply applied and falls off everywhere.

Beautiful umbrella. It works great in the hot sun keeping my sensitive skin from getting burned. I take it with me everywhere. It will keep you dry in the rain as well.

Very pretty , light and keeps sun off, but wow it gets hot under there because of the black inlay . But that being said, it keeps sun off me , that's what I bought if so so...

The umbrella I received was defective. It wouldn’t open all the way. It was also small and didn’t have enough coverage. Not worth it.

Lovely sun umbrella with pretty gold lace; much prettier in person than in the photo. It could be used in a drizzly rain but not a heavy downpour.
