Leather and Vinyl Repair Kit - for Cracks, Cuts, Burns, Tears on Car Seats, Furniture, Leather Clothing, Sofa, Couch- by LeatherLex

I had a 1/2" cut in the side of a car seat. Glue seemed to work as expected. However, applying colored vinyl surface coat was not even close to advertised. Mixing the black and bit of white to match was easy, but the small amount of product I mixed tended to start drying too early (I suspect the higher temperature played a role). The heat curing process was a complete mess and textured paper simply stuck to vinyl coating. I tried applying twice with no luck. Finally, I simply applied the vinyl without heat and let it air cure. The results were much better (passable), but no texture. Given the small cut, this was fine. I would not expect this product to work well on a larger area that was more visible as results would be very noticeable. In the end, the results were okay, thus 3 stars.

The online video makes it look so easy and the finished product perfect. I did not have this experience. Maybe it works better for a hole than a tear? It's easy to use but the final step the leather grain paper kept sticking to the repair even when I left it for long periods. Then when I took it off some of the patch came off with it. I tried it twice and it is definitely better than it was but you can still tell something is wrong in that spot.

I got this kit to repair a small hole in the drivers seat in my car. The color matching was probably the hardest part of the whole process. The color I was going for was “off-black” and it was surprisingly more difficult to get the right shade than I anticipated. It’s not a perfect fix because of the plastic looking texture and dfferent feel, but the spot is less noticeable from a distance now. Hopefully it holds up on a car seat.

The brush was too small for big job .not enough to cover all my couch spots, but it did cover some spots which looks pretty good match with My leather couch.

Item seemed fine but when I received it the paint was dried up and I couldn’t use it. Amazon replaced the item.

I waited over a month before using the kit (unwisely passing the returns window). I immediately that one space inside was completely empty. The little pot for mixing was not included. This proved to be unnecessary though considering my next discovery.When I went to use the little paint pots to match the seat color I found they were dried out almost completely. I had to pry the product out and use my fingers to mix them into a putty. I don't know how that will work. I am hoping the iron will melt it into place over the tear.

I bought the product but didn’t use it, so I can’t rate it.

I only used the glue and backer materials as I was able to get a clean repair and did want to risk the look with a non-matching color. The kit was easy to use with some common sense. I used some painters tape to hold the leather eaxtly as I wanted it while the glue cured. Worked well on my leather couch; certainly happy I did not have to replace the couch.

this was a very disapointing cheap repair kit that was labelled as professional. the Walmart kits are of better quality and Half the price

Not worth it, given a tiny amount of paint

When I attempted to use this product the mixing cups containing the different colors (specifically black & white) were dried out. Impossible to combine the 2 colors. A complete waste of money.

Don't waste your money. Destroyed my sofa. Do not recommend his product.
