VH1 Classic Albums -Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z
VH1 delivers a classic recreation of the making of hip-hop titan Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt. Packed with intriguing, informative interviews and commentary from various artists involved with the production of the music, the DVD definitely kept my attention. I really enjoy watching the passion with which Jay-Z explains the lyrics to some of his hit records, including "D'Evils." The only downside would be the abscence of Damon Dash, obviously due to the Roc-A-Fella breakup. I would have liked to hear Dame's poignant recollections of the time period that led to the birth of one of the most groundbreaking albums in New York rap. Other that that, this DVD is incredible. A must have for any true Jigga fan.

Classic CD!
Classic Jay-Z when he was in his prime and still able to relate to the masses. His current work is unrelatable and all about materialistic crap. This is when Jay-Z was the bomb!

Looking at the album in depth
If you are a hardcore fan of jay and have been listening to this album nonstop or you are a new fan of his going back to his debut album to discover his art and poetry, then this is a wonderful buy. In this 2 hour DVD Jayz alongside the producers sit down to explain the motivation, the process, and the in depth meaning behind the lyrics of each song one by one. Although not every song is covered, the greatest hits including D'evils, Dead Presidents, Can I Live, Brooklyn's Finest, Regrets, etc. are all in there.JayZ explains how his debut album uncovers the truths and stories in his early life as a young child as well as a hustler growing up to have all the rare experiences of his time. Guest artists are interviewed as well in this film. So If you are a fan of jay's lyrical display and poetry in rap and enjoy taking an in depth look at the verses of his rhymes, then this is just what you are looking for. Classic.

Cool
I never liked Jay-Z, in fact I hated him. I think Jay-Z is full of himself. However, this album and dvd mark the beginning of Jay-Z and is well worth it. It's neat to see how he started to who he is now, and the album is dope. Can I live?
