In my experience, I can recommend "Fresh Start 2000" as the best grout cleaner. Mix it with water. Use a spray bottle to apply. Scrub with a small stiff brush. Simple and easy to use and it will make your grout look new again. Full cure time for Aqua Mix Gold is 24 hours. Allow 30 minutes drying time between coats if applying more than 1 coat. Ready for surface traffic in 2 hours after final coat. Keep grout lines dry for 12 hours after final coat. Aqua Mix Gold penetrates grout. I recommend 2 coats for a long lasting protective seal. Used two coats on the shower grout and one coat on the bathroom floor grout. so far, so good. Easy to put on, I was semi neat in application (not so much on penny-tile on shower floor) with several 2" foam brushes. First coat really soaked it up. Followed instructions (let it soak for a couple minutes, and damp wipe off surrounding tiles. It left no residue. This was new tile/grout application, I suppose you would need to really clean grout first on an older floor. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely the best sealer for grout! *by on Reviewed in the United States September 28, 2025* Aqua Mix Sealers Choice Gold is the best sealer I have ever used! It went on easy after I cleaned the grout in my shower. I applied it with a foam brush and allowed it to dry several hours and applied 2 more coats allowing to dry between coats. After applying 3 coats, I didn’t use my shower for 24 hours. There was no smell from this product which made it even better and clean up was easy. To my surprise, this product worked! I could see the water beading on the grout. After more than a week of using my shower since applying, I am still happy with the results. It was very easy to apply and did not leave any streaks or haze on my travertine, which I was worried about. I was able to use the shower about 6 hours later with no issues. You can clearly see the water beading and not soaking in at first. After almost a month of daily shower use, I do notice that in the areas that stay constantly wet the travertine is starting to absorb water again, especially on the shower floor. So it seems the sealer wears down faster in high moisture areas.
