It's not as practical as a roll top, you can only secure it with the straps if you have a smaller load. Also, the strap on the front of the bag is rather short, so it just hangs there flapping about when you are using the drawstring lining to secure your items. They should have made the strap longer, or at least provided a means to secure it.
