Watertight 4inch Clay/Salt Glazed Pipe Rat Barrier/ Non Return Valve

Essential product well made, a lot of money but needed.... wish privatised water companies did their 'checks' more regularly and if theydid would not need these

Fitted very easy. Has stopped water backing up onto our property during extreme downpours.

I'm sure this is a good product but doesn't fit my drain (pipe right size but drain channel to narrow). Now have a boxed unused product. Can I return it?

I had one of these fitted four years ago after replacing damaged pipes, due to vermin issues. Worked great to start with, but now noticed rats starting to get back in our system. On inspection the valve appeared okay, but on closer examination the black seal around the circumference of the blue flap has been badly chewed by vermin, so good seal no longer achieved, and the clever blighters managing to ease it open and slip in. I fully understand nothing lasts forever, but stainless steel device now appears to be the way forward.

The product, although expensive for what it actually is, is admittedly a very snug fit and took lots of persuasion and small adjustments to get it to fit properly but it certain won't accidentally come out now (just hope I don't need to remove it). After five months since fitting, no sign whatsoever of rat activity.I was initially worried that, as it's of plastic construction, it would be easy for rats to chew through but it is a heavy plastic and mine has a metal disc covering the plastic door also. Three winters now we've had rats entering our home, so it's such a relief to know such a simple product works so effectively and £80 compared to the untold damage rats can do is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
