Mine is black and hers was the tortoise shell colour. The colour may mean a difference in material which could be key however both of us attempted to use the clip together and hers, the tortoise shell one, snapped into three pieces which was frustrating as i could see she hardly used any pressure to open the clip. Very disappointing to say the least.
