Alarm Clock Pro

I tried out all the alarm clock apps on Amazon not long ago, because I was having some trouble with the one I was using (it turned out I needed to reset my kindle instead). Anyway, I bought all the pro versions, including this one. And while I could have come back to the clock I had been using, I've been using this one instead. This app has a couple of features I didn't think I liked at the beginning: for example, one the alarm goes off and plays a song you have picked (this feature is only on the music alarms) it only plays your song through one time, and then stops. After it snoozes itself it replays it. The part I didn't like is that it doesn't play the song until you turn it off or snooze it. I've gotten over that. But here is the reason you want this APP OVER OTHER CLOCK APPS: THE DISPLAY OF THE CLOCK IS HUGE. This means: I can read it in the night without my glasses on. (I have astigmatism). But all of the other clock apps I bought require me to do exactly what I have had to do all my life: squint in various ways until I bring into focus and mostly can read what time it is. Who wants to do that? That's way too much effort to discover you can sleep some more, or you're overslept, etc. This clock app, however, is big enough that I have my kindle not even right beside me, and I can look at it and read it. Easily. Turn down the brightness on your unit, however, because that feature is not accessible in the app itself and you don't need to light up the city with your tablet. And otherwise, I love this app. I have set alarms to get up, get in the shower to get ready for work, etc. Etc. And it let's me define each day you want that alarm to go off--and in the night--I CAN READ IT. You just can't ask for more. I highly recommend it.

I love this app and thought it was the best for a long while until I started missing alarms. I've been late to work a few times now because of two different things. I use nova launcher and for whatever reason, whenever the launcher gets updated, all alarms instantly get wiped. Why is that? It's annoying having to set it up every single time there's an update for nova. The second thing that is super annoying is that the time freezes on the app. I use the widget to display the time on my home screen, and I've woken up several times PAST the time my alarm was set, without it going off. My alarm is set to 7:12 AM and it's half past, but looking at my home screen, the widget will say 2 AM or some other time in the middle of the night, effectively causing the alarm to never go off since the time, to the app, did not change. I've been late several times due to this. If this ever gets changed, I would go back to this app right away, but due to these problems, I cannot use it.

I had the free version of this app but acquired the pro version when Amazon was giving it away along with several other paid apps one day. I don't see a lot of difference between the free and paid versions of the alarm clock. The interface is slightly different but setting the clock, choosing a ringer, setting the length of the snooze time if you desire one, and other things are all the same in both versions. This one does have a strobe light feature which I don't believe the free version has so there is that. This does the job and hasn't failed me yet. I am hearing impaired so I use both the vibrate and a very loud ringtone and it wakes me up every time. It is reliable as well which is the most important thing. The free version sometimes just didn't go off even though it was set properly. This version has not ever failed to go off when set. It's a good app and one I use often. I can't think of much else I would want in an alarm clock app and this one is reliable with several features so I am going with 5 stars.

My only gripe is the jarring, turned-ALL-the-way-up volume, there's no way to adjust it (unless you're already listening to something, & then the alarm just plays along with whatever you're listening to & can barely be heard). **But I get around this by connecting my Kindle to my T.V. or stuffing it in a drawer across the room. Other than that, I love it! I have multiple alarms each day for different tasks & appointments with different music from my audio library for each one. I use this a lot! Very simple to set & label alarms. Can set to your own music/audio. Can have a lot of alarms (I've not reached any limit yet & have several each day & week). Deleting them is a cinch, just press & hold an alarm & the option to delete pops up. Consistently goes off when it's supposed to (I haven't had one fail). The display choices are nice & bright. The new snooze/turn off update is a little awkward, but not a hindrance & can be gotten used to. Again, very loud, unless plugged into your television.

Not as user friendly as I would like. Seems to work OK, but...

I really love this alarm clock. I realize it's just an alarm clock, so "love" may be a bit strong, but if you're thinking about buying an alarm clock app, this is the one to get. The numbers are huge, so they're clearly visible in the room. I researched a number of clocks, but the display on this one is far and away the best. It's a bit bright, but it's easy to reduce the brightness on the clock. I love the options for alarm sounds, but I have chosen to use my own music. It works like a charm. The controls are intuitive. I really love everything about this alarm clock, and I'm so happy to have chosen this app. You will be glad, too.

Good App - better when it's free! (note this app frequently goes on promotion for free).

Une bonne application pour programmer des alarmes ou son réveil matin. L'indication de temps avant la prochaine alarme est un plus. Côté gadget, le réglage de la luminosité d'affichage en touchant l'écran en glissant de haut en bas. Il manque la possibilité de désactiver la prochaine alarme d'une programmation hébdo pour éviter d'être réveillé trop tôt les jours fériés.

Non aspettatevi miracoli: è un'app sveglia, il caffè non ve lo fa ;) La trovo molto bella e utile, sopratutto perchè di notte metto il telefono in carica ed approfitto della funzione orologio per tenere tutta la notte l'orologio acceso sul telefono in modalità orizzontale (avendo un note 3 ed utilizzando l'orologio a numeri bianchi su sfondo nero è perfetto!) Le funzioni sono quelle descritte sulla descrizione dell'app pertanto non mi dilungo riscrivendole, posso solo dire che funziona bene e che rende un po' più smart l'utilizzo di una semplice funzione come la sveglia e l'orologio.
