Not what was advertised on the box, needed modifications to work
I read the other reviews before I bought this item, so I knew there was a chance it might not fit my stand, which is a Radioshack brand I've had for years. Not a deal-breaker. The package arrived in a timely manner, but upon opening the outer box, I could see that this was NOT a new unit, but one someone else had returned, because the manufacturer box was open. Also, there was no instruction sheet, and no parts list. One of the set screws for tightening the unit was completely missing. But, determined to get my money's worth, rather than send the unit back, pay for return shipping and wait for a replacement or refund, and pay more for a different unit from elsewhere, I gritted my teeth and went to the hardware store, bought a replacement screw and a length of copper pipe which would fit inside the bottoms of the extension once I cut it into two lengths with a hacksaw. Once that was done, I slid the pipes inside the ends of my Radioshack stand after cutting holes in the ends of the rubber caps, and after tightening everything down, was good to go.However, I might mention that the unit does NOT look like the photo on the manufacturer box, or this amazon ad, which shows two plastic ends that hold the second keyboard in place. The actual unit had two plain rectangular pieces of metal screwed into the ends, which makes it functional, but not esthetically pleasing. This unit is functional and sturdy enough for the midi keyboard I have placed on it, but I wouldn't trust it to hold a larger, heavier keyboard, which is what I have on the bottom tier. I don't think I would buy this again.

Great quality but doesnt fit the PL400 stand.
This second tier set seems to be really solid and will mount well. I bought it to hold my laptop above the keyboard and it looks like it will work out great.I say looks like because there is a small problem..I took a chance that it would fit my stand, and it doesnt. I have a Proline PL400 keyboard stand and the width if the stand pipe is the same as the tier set mount. They are both 1 2/8in. pipes. Product states it may not fit all styles. Roll the dice, takes yer chance on mixing different brands! That being said, Ill take a trip to the local hardware store tomorrow and buy a 4in section of PVC or some other type of pipe I can use to slip into both tubes to mount it..As I said, although I havent used it, it looks like it will work out and be sturdy once I add the extra parts.Rock on!

an ode to this stand
I bought this for my synth keyboard.so I could organize when on tour (ha! jk)it didn't fit my stand that I already had.But i didn't get that mad.my partner 3d printed a mold for the stand,(its great to have that for things on demand)it is a cap so the end fits, but i doubt all the shoppers have the 3d printer kit.buyers beware, purchase if you dare.

Stand works fine, but the arms are fixed at a slightly different angle. Unfortunately, this makes the above keyboard unstable.NOT unusable… but wobbly enough so that you constantly worry about it.

I would not recommend this add on for a heavy keyboard maybe a small 49 keyboard.

Did not fit my professional keyboard stand. It's too small

I ended up cutting it and drilling it
I cut several inches off the height and drilled screw holes in it to secure. It was way way to high above the bottom keyboard. Even so I think I'm going to cut another inch off.

Great Product
This is just what I needed. I have a Yamaha ypg-235 and a Casio wk-1630 and the Casio is on the 2nd tier. its really sturdy and easy to assemble. you really don't need the instructions. I had both my keyboards set up with this in 5 minutes. Other people have talked about parts missing but mine came in fine. Totally a good investment.
