First, it's outdoor furniture, slightly rough-and-ready. If you get beyond this fact if you were expecting indoor Amish handmade quality then you, like I will be pleased with the result. Yes the wood is soft and light, so it probably won't stand up to much abuse and frankly, just the build process put a few nicks and scrapes in it. I am completely comfortable with this as I want a rugged look to my garden furniture.The build process is not helped much by the instructions which were clearly written by the person who built the chairs. Too much reliance on two poor photos and inside knowledge. I am pretty handy, so I just laid out the hardware, measured the bolts and corresponding nuts and went for it after a quick read. The first char took 30 minutes, the second, 10 minutes. I purchased the matching table and that was 10 minutes too. Tools: Screw gun, socket wrench with 1/2" and 7/16" socket and a light hammer. The hardware is complete and stainless (other than the coated self-tapping screws) and each set has a spare of everything if you plan in building it in your lawn.Tips:Hammer the heads of the carriage bolts in completely before tightening the nut. Otherwise trying to compress the head into the wood by tightening the nut will result in tearing the wood and a very frustrating and loose joint.Lubricate the open bearings with spray white grease in the glider armatures before installation and then bolt them with just enough pressure so that they move freely. Too much pressure will result in stiff gliding and will no doubt affect life performance of the bearing joints.Bolt moderately tight, place it on a level surface and then tighten again. Then put in the screws.This set looks exactly like the photos, performs exactly as described and comes very well organized and packed. Love the fact that it is a small business, made in America and shipped quickly.

These chairs are not too hard to put together and are attractive. I checked around ALOT before purchasing them and found that I would be paying almost as much to purchase a Chinese product, complete with all the inferior quality and questionable materials, as I would buying from this American company that gave me, in the end, excellent quality and materials that are explained and good for our environment. What a concept! I am recommending this company to everyone I can find. A neighbor Is looking for a full sized glider now and I have bragged about my chairs to the point I feel like a salesperson! You cannot go wrong with this company.

The first thing I look for in a chair is it's ability to support me at almost 300 pounds. Then comfort and style come into play. These chairs will support an elephant and they glide smoothly and look great on our deck. The price is nice as well for chairs built this well. If you need outdoor furniture that will hold up you've found it.

Very nice looking chair , glides easy , it is super easy to put together , nothing hard here people , 2 separate bags with all the bolts , screws you need , instructions are clear and concise , the 1st bag has 3 separate length of bolts , nothing hard , 2 short ones , 4 middle ones and 2 long ones , separate them and your good to go , the 2nd bag has all the same length bolts in it and 8 screws all same length , nothing could be easier , my grandma could put this together its that easy , the wood is soft , this is not a hardwood oak or ash wood chair , it will be very outdoor durable though , I like its not treated wood , your not sitting on chemicals , I will be buying more , love this chair !!!!

follow the instructions (which could be better) and it will take you about 45 minutes to put together. Have all the tools you will need (listed) before starting as well as a tape measure for figuring out which screws to use. As they are all about the same size. Some of the surfaces were not as smooth as I would think they should be, after all you are setting on it and using your hands to get up and down. the "STAIN" on them rubs off on lighter colored clothes (for that matter probably on darker ones also), hoping that it will come out in the wash. The fit of all the pieces was very good, I would recommend these for anyone that needs out door furniture.

I paid an extra $20 for the finished model, however, I received the unfinished model. Very disappointed. Now I have to spend the time, manpower, and money to finish the chair.RESOLUTION: The very same day I posted this review, Mr Kilmer contacted me, apologized for the mistake and offered a partial refund, as well as, a compensatory amount to purchase the materials to apply a finish to the chair. He also has offered a side table as compensation for the mistake. I am quite satisfied with his response and compensation.

Bought two of these for the front porch three years ago. Very comfortable and holding up extremely well. Stain color still looks the same. Exposed to sun about an hour a day.

I purchased two of these gliders for my front porch that is exposed to harsh sun and rain. They are still as beautiful as the day I purchased them. Reviews I read, left me unsure about whether to purchase them or not. I'm glad I did purchase them as they were not only easy and fast to assemble but are so comfortable you could comfortably glide for hours. Any wooden furniture I've purchased in the past I've always needed to use cushions to be comfortable, not the case with these chairs. I will be buying more pieces from this collection and seller as the pieces arrived quickly, on time and in good shape, ahead of expected delivery date.
