I like these
Biodegradable, compostable and flushable. What else do you really need? My dog generally relieves himself in his designated pit in the backyard, which I then clean every week and bury under his pit. I don't really need bags except for really long walks/jogs or when we leave the house for the park/public. I really wanted these because of the compostability of these bags. The bags are a decent size for a small dog, but I do wish they were a bit longer. I dont know how these would work for a large breed, because you're gonna be cutting it pretty close. You might as well just slip newspaper under a large dog's butt at that point. Because of the ingredients used to make the bag, the bag feels really weird - It's pretty much like sticking your hand inside a condom. It doesn't make your hand wet or anything, but it kind of makes it feel like it did, it's really odd. I don't mind it though, but could be an issue for others. They are also a bit tough to tear because they are a bit thick, but it isn't a big problem for me since I tear one or two off and carry it in my pocket - the ring used to connect this to the leash broke off on the first day and I just ended up not using the tube. If you're dead set on using the tube, it could be an issue, especially if you need to use these twice a day, every day. Last thing is that the opening for the bag is not located at the top or bottom of the bag. The opening of the bag is actually on the side. It's a bit tricky, when you first use these, but I got used it it.In the month since I ordered these, I've probably used about 10-15 of these. After our walk/jog, I'll come home, throw these in the corner of his pit and then I bury it with the other stuff when I clean once a week. Works out pretty great for me.

Great product for dogs about 50 pounds and under.
I did some research and flushing seems to be the preferred method of municipalities for dealing with dog waste. Now comes the gross part.!! My dog is 70 pounds. He defecates once a day. This is not a small turd. The bag holds up well on the way home. However, it is very difficult to flush it down the toilet: 3 flushes, a plunger, and a near overflow where involved both times we tried on each of our two toilets. We have your usual modern low volume flush toilet. We will probably use the bags because they will eventually decompose in a land fill. This is probably a great product for smaller dogs. The turd would go down without difficulty. If for some reason you have a high volume flush toilet you might be able to get a big dog turd down it.

I'll keep purchasing
I like these. I like that you can flush them, although I would let them sit in the toilet a minute before flushing. I don't like how you can feel them disintegrating in your hand if it's raining or really humid out. They aren't going to go away completely and leave you with poopy hands, don't worry, but it has a slick feel to it. And, although I'm trying not to get upset about it, because it is poop, it also smells like poop. In fact the smell isn't covered at all. Finally, the bags are really hard to tear.

Great for the Environment - Frustrating to Use
When we were getting ready to bring out puppy home I started looking around for an environmentally friendly solution for dog poop bags because I wanted to avoid two things: 1) filling landfills with a ton of plastic bags, 2) a very smelly garbage can. I thought I had found the solution with these Flush Puppies, but the reality is that the bags are very frustrating not only to tear off from the roll but also to unfold. I read some of the older reviews stating that there were difficulties with the bags, and some of the newer reviews seemed to indicate that the issues had been fixed. Well, it's September 2011... and as of now I'm telling you all that unless you are willing to tolerate some real frustrating moments, you should buy a different kind of dog poop bags.Problems:1) Tearing each bag off the roll is very difficult since the bags are so thick and the perforations are not the best.2) Unfolding the bags is frustrating and difficult even once you tear the bags off.3) The bags are thick, so you don't get as many bags on a roll as you'd get with regular bags. This means you have to buy a lot more!4) The quality of the dispenser is not as good as other very inexpensive ones that we've purchased elsewhere.5) The bags are small, so people with big dogs would have issues using these bags.I thought about getting the "wallet" style to avoid the hassle of tearing them from the roll, but then I fumbled with trying to just unfold the bags in the dark a couple of times and got so upset that I decided to just wait until this environmentally friendly innovation goes through a few more rounds of engineering before trying them out again. In the meanwhile, we went with some baking soda infused bags that neutralize odor (a little) and bought a small trash can to keep out back where we can dump the poop bags until it's garbage day. That way the smell doesn't accumulate in the garage. Conclusion: They work, and they're environmentally friendly... so I gave them 3 stars. However, I don't have the required patience to use this product in its current level of development.

I gave this a good week or more and many conditions before writing a response. I thought I'd give this product a try regardless of the other negative reviews. They do tear off fairly easily, so no problem there. They also flush well. On our less powerful toilet, I need to hold down the handle to give it a bit more power, but that's it. I used the plunger a couple times before I figured to hold the handle down longer. I haven't had to pick up diarrhea yet, but I've picked up softer poop, picked up poop at the beginning of a long walk, or picked it up in a gentle rainfall. The bag held up and did not disintegrate in any instance. Our garbage can smells so much better now we can flush these! A++ Would buy again.UPDATE: I just successfully picked up my dog's diarrhea and it was twice the amount she usually goes, which did plug the toilet. Still, the bag never disintegrated! It's been a magical morning... :-/
