DHCP Hiccups and No Support
Shame on me, I didn't realize when purchasing that this was not a Linksys...but a Linkskey switch. There are good reasons to go with a brand name: community support, manufacturer documentation and support, a product that reflects on a valuable brand - meaning they want to make sure it works and is stable, etc. This switch frequently has issues with DHCP and assigning IP addresses to computers I have ethernetted into it. And when I try to figure out how to administer the router or look for documentation, their website doesn't even work! Try going to linkskey.com and you'll see what I mean. Can't even connect to their web server! This is a product that has virtually zero support and not even a website you can visit.I need to check to the dates, but I'll be attempting to return it.

Very nice unmanaged switch
Solid box and solid performance. Very nice unmanaged switch. Really appreciate the dedicated uplink port. I took a gamble and purchased 3 of these (2 are the 4PoE + 4non-PoE and 1 is the 8PoE) for a home LAN that carries traffic for 10 IP cameras, a couple hard wired computers, NAS and the Internet gatway router. They work flawlessly. They link-up at GigE using 150' spans of 5e STP (w/shielded connectors) and short spans of 5e UTP (w/unshielded connectors) with no problem. The power supply on the 8 port PoE unit is very beefy. Hit them with as much traffic as I could muster (about 750Mbps) and Wireshark showed no signs of packet loss or retries. Would love to see a next generation in a similar configuration but with two, 10Gb uplink ports and 10, 12 or 16 access ports split 50/50 with PoE and non-POE.

Both units failed after 3 years
I bought two of these in 2016 and both of them failed within the last 6 months. While they were working they were fine. But these should be relatively simple devices and should not fail, especially two of them. I'm using another brand now. I give it 2 stars since while they were working they did fine and down graded it due to two of them failing.

Does the job
Purchased this to use in a remote location 2 months ago. I was a little concerned buying an unknown brand with such a low price. 2 months later, I have not been called out to the site for anything, and I check it's status remotely regularly. I am no longer concerned with the price or the lack of brand recognition. I will buy this unit again whenever the need requires.

Plug and play setup
I needed a simple solution to share an ethernet port between my UMI and my Roku. This switch was inexpensive and simple. Just plug it in to the ethernet port, plug in the ac and then plug in both devices. everything else happened automatically. A no brainer.
