Wish I would have bought sooner
This is a fantastic little amp; exactly what I would expect from a 5-watt class A tube amp. It has gain, compression and saturation at sane volume levels. Enough head room for a small club and perfect for jam night at the local blues dive. Cranked all the way has outstanding vintage crunch sounds. The sound holds its own with Mesa, Marshall, Fender et al.I like the simple, innovative design in a small package. The quality is good whereas the chassis is heavy.Ordered on Tuesday and it arrived on Friday.Update:I took it into a shop – it was the transformer that failed as expected. The Tech said the heater side failed; not many windings as it would have been expected to fail. We don’t know if the transformer was not within spec. or design failure.A used USA transformer was installed and now it sounds even better; we all agreed this is one great sounding amp. The design was reversed engineered and a couple of prototypes will be fabricated. Because of the single channel, no reverb etc design, point-to-point soldering would be easy so we can do without a PCB. We’ll see how it goes. The proto’s will be on repurposed chassis so they’ll be larger, but if we decide to go to production we can customize smaller chassis; about the same form, fit and function but better quality.

This amp will die.
Smelled like burning paint. Low output.Seems to happen to many people. Must be a design flaw
