They are not discontinued. No idea why it says that .

Are the traps pet friendly

Not pet friendly. They are small packets (1-1/2" sq.)which are to be placed/tucked into a crevice. But EFFECTIVE! I used them yrs ago, but couldn't find them anywhere until now.

How does the sf eat this product vs whatever it's currently eating? Is there a pheromone linked to it?

After a few months it does not appear sf has touched the bait... can't answer if there is an attraction as no evidence on my bait packs of any sf activity
