Effective ear defenders
I was dubious about these ear defenders after having years of issues with ear buds falling out. After moulding these they fit like a glove and block out all harmful noise when clay shooting.Highly recommended

I really wanted to like these!
In a nutshell, easy to mould but I couldn't tell any difference over £3 tri-flange plugs. If you want custom moulded, I would drop the percussive filter and save some ££.I have been using electronic ear defenders for about a year, after switching from the tri-flange type.I've always prefered the comfort of in-ear plugs but wanted to maintain the level of awareness and protection that the electric defenders gave me.I spent A LOT of time researching these, reading reviews and opinions from those who shoot more often than me, talking to guys at my club etc. Feedback was mixed but with a slight lean towards the positive so I waited until payday and bought a pair excited to receive them and with high expectations.I had considered CFG and SENS but looking through the product info I've concluded (assumed) that the passive plugs are using similar (if not the same) tech... and the USP and increased price of the others is due to the custom moulding.I had an easy time moulding these plugs - other reviews suggest this is a faff(?) - I went through a few goes to get the fit really comfortable - probably took about an hour all tolled.I initially tested the plugs by clapping, talking, standing next to a 97dB compressor and on a walk. My results were that the plugs seemed to take out the same levels in any scenario - the clapping by the compressor was muted and the motor sounded like it would through normal plugs. I failed to hear a bird leave a tree on my walk which I would have picked up with my electronic defenders -- my electric defenders enhance low noises as well as counter the loud ones so this may be an unfair comparison however I was expecting the plugs to filter little to nothing in normal operation and then kick in with the percussive filter when exposed to loud noises; I expected to hear the flapping of wings before I saw the bird.On the clay ground they continued to underwhelm. Conversations were hard work and while they did dull the bangs, this wasn't as low as the electronic ones. On test I switched to tri-flanged plugs and found I had the same performance in both speech and loud bangs which sealed the fate of these plugs for me.I have since returned to Amazon and they have issued a full refund - great service.I would consider decibullz again, but would go for the cheaper full-block type if I was looking for custom fit as I see no advantage of the percussive filter over far cheaper alternatives.I'll be going back to my JP electric set with some cheap plugs in my pocket as backup.I hope that helps!

used for shotgun shooting. they let enough sound in to hear the thrower and speech.

Not worth the money
These are okay at best. Definitely not £90 worth of hearing protection. They're easy enough to mould, fit well, and comfortably when they're set, and they look good, but they don't offer anywhere near as much protection as expected/advertised.To be safe, I first used these using an un-modereated .22 air rifle, then a moderated .22lr (outdoors & indoors), and finally I went un-moderated for a shot. Yeah, they block out the worst of the percussive snap of the round, but I don't think/feel that they do it any better than a pair of foamy plugs. Although my ears weren't ringing, I was still shouting a bit when I got indoors. Much to the wife's annoyance. It's a crying shame as I had such high hopes for these, considering all of the youtube creator plugs, advertising and reviews I've seen.

Decibullz Custom Molded Percussive Filters are a quality product.
The product when arrived was one of quality from the packaging to the individual components. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I have used / tested my Decibullz while volunteering (resetting & patching targets) at the UKPSA L3 Scottish Practical Shotgun Championships and even today I used them at the InverClyde range. These are my new goto ear protection which I can carry in my pocket.

I wish these were good.
I’m an avid shooter and I shoot multiple types of scenarios. Day one of getting them the moulding was fairly easy yet when it set I did find the edges fairly abrasive on my ears (however I probably could have fixed this with moulding again). I noticed a small mark on the percussive cap on the right side; turns out this was a hole, rendering the whole cap useless. Unfortunately I found out testing this next to a live 9mm round. The concept is good, but the whole thing isn’t quite there yet for me. Too fragile, came broken, didn’t feel quite right compared to traditional electronic ear defenders that are 1/3rd the price. Sorry to the company but save your money.
