Cherry Red Charlie and Blue Barry are two electric vehicles who live and travel around Carrville, an eco-friendly small town that runs on renewable energy from windmills and solar panels.This book is a pleasure to read aloud, with intelligent writing and attractive drawings that will give you a chance to discuss transportation technologies with even the youngest kids in a way they will understand.The eyes and smiles on both of these characters provide vivid images of their happy personalities, and the book is like a classic "buddy movie" in that they both set off on an adventure together, and provide each other with mutual support.Good points to cover with your child while reading through the text is the background presence of windmills, solar panels, battery depots, charging stations, and fueling stations -- a useful collection of infrastructure concepts in this age of hybrid vehicles and mix of technologies on the roadways.A yellow car named Sunny Sarah is introduced at the very end, and hopefully we will see more of her in future books of what looks to be an ongoing series.

I love books with good characters and a positive lesson that I can read to my kids. Cherry Red Charlie and Barry help teach kids about alternative energy in a charming and unique way. My kids love this book - I highly recommend it to any parent with an eye on teaching kids positive, environment-friendly lessons.

I give Charlie 5 stars because he's a car that cares about the earth and others. His world is a place I'd like to live. Your children and grandchildren will love Cherry Red Charlie!

I read and truly enjoyed this book. Love how it teaches our youngsters to stay diligent about being green and earth conscious. Awesome book by an awesome author!!!
