PgMP: Program Management Professional Exam Study Guide 1st Edition

This book was written in 2007 and is based on PMI's the Standard for Program Management 1st Edition. PMI is on their 4th Edition. It's a great price, but it won't prepare you for a 2023 PMI PgMP exam.

This is one of the great books out there for the PgMP exam. Use together with the PMI standard text on program management. I would recommend this book to guys out there planning to take the PgMP exam and are serious to pass.

I found the book useful but a bit off the mark. I just passed the PgMP exam earlier this week and while this book provided some useful information, readers would benefit from knowing that the exam's focus is significantly different than the book. To be fair to Sanghera, however, I will say that it's just about impossible for someone to write an exam prep book for the Program Management Professional Exam (PgMP), which is the way I suspect PMI wants it. Paul Sanghera's books appears to be the best option available. (I also bought Sanghera's companion textbook, which I expect will serve me in my professional life for years to come.)I recommend this book but with the caveat stated above.

I took and Passed the PgMP using this book, the Program Standard, the Crosswind Book and the Aileen Ellis online questions. While this book is fine for prepping, as are the others, nothing can really prepare you for this exam! I doubted some of the other comments like 'When it comes to the exam, you're on your own', but I must concede they were right. This exam cannot be taken lightly. It is exponentially tougher than the PMP exam! The questions in the exam are way tougher than any contained in the above-mentioned materials.Some of the harsher criticisms of this book must not be taken seriously! This book has its value as a study aide - it's well structured and covers the necessary topics to master the theoretical component of the 'Standard'. A further suggestion for PgMP prepping - know the PMBOK well! Good hunting!

The was the first book I started my prep with, and although each topic was covered theoretically, the flow of information between knowledge areas, process groups, processes, etc was not logical.I passed my PgMP exam today - I realized a week ago that this book was very inadequate. I switched to another book which was much more effective and prepared me more in one week, than using this book for more than a month.In hindsight, I'm glad I made the decision to stop using this book

I purchased the PgMP book in preparation for taking the PgMP exam. The book did not deliver as advertised as an exam study guide. I studied the book thoroughly for about a month to 6 weeks, did extremely well on the practice tests but when I took the PgMP exam determined the book did not prepare me for the questions that were on the test. Many of the questions on the PgMP exam were case study type questions asking for me to pick the 'BEST' or 'first' action to be taken, while the book practice questions had many more obvious choices for the selections. I was disappointed in the guide preparing me for the exam. Needless to say, I did not pass the exam.

Great Product w/Fast Delivery!!!

This product is falls short for two reasons:1) It is dated and does not reflect the latest thinking in the PMI standard for Program Management; and2) The book provides no additional insight or knowledge not readily available in the PMI standards publication.Do not buy this book, especially as the PMI is in the midst of a new Role Delineation Study and changes will be introduced in 2012.

Guter Aufbau, viele Fragen mit Lösungen und Erklärungen enthalten, aber leider auf der dritten Version des PMBoK Guide und der ersten des Program Management Standard basierend und daher leider nur noch mit Einschränkungen nutzbar. Achtung, wird von Amazon nicht deklariert, bin daher leider reingefallen.

This book on program management is the most read for PgMP exams. It comes with a CD for a PDF version. I recommend this book strongly for anyone who wants to take PgMP.

Nicely written book indeed. Kudos to Paul's efforts, great efforts in writing this wonderful book.
