I have issues with my eyes for various reasons and having a black background and white or bright fluorescent texts is so much easier to read rather than white background and black or dark texts colours so this ruler really is perfect for me and well made. I also use magnifiers to help with detailed measurements and I was able to see the sharp details of the etched in numbers and lines on each face of the ruler. Most of my design tools are Alvin products because of the quality but also their products just seem to work well with how I think. Well designed and well built design tools.
