18V Doorbell Transformer, Power Adapter Compatible with Smart Video Doorbells, UL Certified 3M Cable Power Supply, Black

I bought this to power my Nest doorbell since my house was never wired for a doorbell before.I had the perfect opportunity to plug this in since my front door sits directly above a ceiling height outlet in my basement. I spent a little bit of time fishing the cable through the wall and to the exterior, plugged it in and was good to go.The product works exactly as described and has powered my doorbell just fine for several months now. I don't anticipate ever having to buy another but I would purchase again if I added another camera that needed the lower voltage.I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to add low voltage power and has an outlet conveniently placed out of sight. If you do not have an outlet nearby and don't want the exposed wire running from your doorbell to your outlet then I would suggest hiring an electrician to come out and set you up with hard-wired low voltage lines instead.

Previously had used my Ring 2 with a power transformer that worked with my door chime. Stopped working - Ring Support for a 1.5 year old product was ridiculous and they were pressuring me to buy a new unit.Took the initiative and figured that it was not the Ring 2-charged perfectly when connected to a computer. Replacing the power transformer, replacing the diode or bypassing the door chime did not fix the problemOut of frustration I ordered the power adapter - by passed the power transformer house wiring and diode - connected to the product - and voila works like a champ. No issues as of yet - about 30 days after purchase.

I was pretty excited when I saw that Ring had a power supply to use with the Ring video doorbell as I have to charge my Ring doorbell quite frequently right now. I live in a cold climate AND there are 4 houses being built all around me so the thing is going off all the time plus the cold is also draining the battery faster. Having the plug makes it so nice! I must say I was perplexed when I took it out of the box and saw just 2 wires!PROS:Doorbell stays fully charged at all timesCost is well within most people's budgetCONS:No instructionsCord is shortI am guessing if the power goes out, the Ring doorbell remains fully charged as its been plugged in, but I am not sure, that makes sense to me though. I love my Ring and am pretty impressed with the wired hook up to prevent having to recharge it!

I installed this transformer because I got tied of a dead battery that needed recharging every month. There was a perpendicular wall right behind my Ring doorbell. I used a 12" long 3/8" paddle bit and drilled straight back to gain access to an interior wall of the front bedroom. Just fished it down (up) the wall and plugged it in. Absolutely no problems and I would recommend this.

Few weeks after I installed it, I noticed that my ring doorbell is not working and that the battery is dead. I used the multimeter to check the transformer and found out that the output voltage is ZERO.
