Trail Ridge Tonneau Cover Soft Tri Fold for Toyota Tacoma Pickup Truck 6ft Short Bed New

First off, this is a decent price for a tri-fold tonneau. I'm not sure why, but my last truck, a full size, was easier to find reasonably priced tonneaus for- not so with the 1st gen Tacoma. Anyhow, this is probably the cheapest one you'll find. The material looks fine. I noticed some tiny defects that might affect longevity, but they aren't too apparent. My quibble with this top is that all 4 clamps are not permanently attached to the cover. Every other tri-fold I've had has clamps attached to it. These clamps fall off pretty easily once you've unhooked them. And they don't fold up well to stay in place when the cover itself is folded. This may not seem like a big deal, but I use this style cover because it detaches easily and can be stowed when I have a tall load. If any of the 4 clamps happens to fall off and get lost, the cover becomes nearly worthless, because it's going to flap while driving if a clamp is missing. And the clamps are specific to this- it's not as if you could find one in a hardware store to replace a lost one. If anyone has an idea of how to permanently attach these things, I'd really like to know. I'm frustrated because when I buy something new, I don't want to have to engineer solutions myself for what most other manufacturers of this product have already found solutions for. The rest of the cover is fine for what I need, but had I known about the detached clamps, it would have been a deal breaker and I would have looked for another cover.

Good value for my old 04 Tacoma. I would prefer a better way to open it but for the price its hard to beat. Also good fit and easy install.
