I like the quality of this compass--its heavy and reasonably well made. However, the removable steel nib (upon which the compass pivots) slides in no matter how hard you tighten it. I finally got around the problem by wrapping a bit of electrical tape around the nib before reinstalling it, and that solved the issue, but it seems a shame I had to DIY my way around this silly design issue. If the manufacturer just plasti-dipped it to make it less slippery, it would work fine.

I haven’t reviewed a product in years but after using this for about a month I gotta say this thing is pretty sweet. All metal design, replacement 2mm leads, replacement metal tips are all convenient to have to add to the life span of this thing which I’d imagine would last years. Currently using it for calculus class for drawing circles or graphs. My favorite part is the metal wheel you can easily rotate to adjust the size. No issue with size changing unintentionally. (not sure if that’s an issue but when you set it, it doesn’t move) Also have yet to break the lad since I’ve bought it. Hope this helps

I make some fairly precise pieces from time to time and the tools I was using are just too worn to do what I need. I expected a quality setto cost at least a little more, but these are very accurate with detailed markings and smooth movement. The price point is exceptional. as a teacher I will either buy classroom sets or encourage students to purchase their own. Thanks for supplying these quality items. for others who want a higher price/quality set. They are out there but do you really need to spend five time as much? I made a great choice.

You've really got to tighten that screw to keep the needle in place. Like, get a pair of pliars tight. This compass doesn't have that extra little grip piece you slide the lead and needle through to help keep them from slipping out. Works fine besides that. Be aware that the screws are loose when the product arrives, be careful removing it from the packaging or else you may lose parts.

This compass trades sturdiness for inexpensiveness.It doesn't hold setting as well as more expensive designs, and the sleeves into which the leads and point are set are soft and easily bent.Still, it works -- best for student users and those doing non-critical work.

I ordered this compass for my daughter for math class, I don't know if some are better than others but knowing I didn't want to go to the stores during the first day of school and waiting for an hour on checkout I ordered this one. The only problem was on the second day of use it literally came apart into 3 pieces and I had to go out to the store to locate another one because she needed that night for homework. Again I don't know much about compasses and the sturdiness of them but I was very disappointment with this one. Luckily for me the seller made it right.

So simple and easy to use, it even comes in a pretty package with plenty of spare parts. My daughter loves to draw with it all day long with her little hands, so the product definitely fits for all! She likes that she can switch from smaller to larger circles easily and she doesn’t have to worry about slipping when she uses the compass because it locks in place. This compass even made me excited about drawing again, brilliant product with bargain price!

It works well, but the led keeps sliding not matter how much I tighten the screw the keep it together, but it's not that bad. I wish that it had something on it that will tell you what size circle will be drawn. The extra materials that came with it will really come in handy.
