I read the reviews before I purchased so I knew what to expect. Results were better than expected. It came with nice wood stand. Leather in lining is nice. Metal was oily to preserve it but not to excess so it was easily wiped with shop rag. Very well packaged. I think it's awesome craftsmanship. One spike was loose when arrived but very easily tightened back up with screw driver. Worth every penny and more. I love my helmet.

I did have to return the first one I received. But the return shipping was free and the replacement was MUCH better than the original. I was looking for a "perfect" helmet to display and we have to remember these are man made any they will not be perfect. But the replacement was way better and I am keeping this one. Cool piece and gnarly looking as a "piece" for display. The replacement came is as a great upgrade from the original. Worth the price for sure

This thing is pretty massive real deal stuff. You will feel like a Gladiator once you put the thing on. Putting the thing on: First I had to unloosen the string that tied the inside leather 'cap' together in order to fit my head in it. It fits nicely as seen in the picture. (I'm not a big dude, and it fits 'nicely.) After that, I took a metal file to ground down some sharp edges on the interior by the nose and eyes and forehead -- this is the part that comes in contact with your face especially when putting the thing on and removing it as well. Like many have written, the spikes: One spike was pretty wobbly out of the box. But it's fastened to the helmet via a SCREW. So you can tighten it yourself. Which is what I did. There's a bunch of oil and pink grease on it when it comes to you. So I wiped most of this stuff off. I'm assuming that was there to protect it from oxidation and was part of the finishing process. I had to take off some weld marks with my finger nail -- the dark weld burn marks can rub off with some elbow grease. This thing for $39 was a kick in the pants. So much fun and quite handsome. Oh and I ended up cutting off the leather chin strap (because real gladiators don't need a chin strap).

I am completely disappointed in this product! The shape is all wrong as you can see in the photos included. One spike was not connected and didn't even come with the screw to reattach it. The pleather liner was not even good pleather. On the products actual box, it says wooden stand is included. It was not. Complete misrepresentation of a product. I read review after review for this helmet. I looked at several different versions just trying to make sure I didnt get screwed like some other people had mentioned from their reviews. It does not seem to have made a difference. Im shipping it back immediately.

The helmet was a gift for my husband for Christmas, one he had picked out himself at another vendor, at a much higher price. You often wonder what the difference in price will mean in terms of quality...is the price so much higher because the item is so much better? Well, I decided to take the risk, and I am very pleased. The quality is exactly what I expected, the helmet came lightly oiled, as expected...delivery took longer than promised, due to no fault of the seller's...that was due to the issues experienced by ups this holiday season. No big issue...we're grownups. I am very happy with my purchase, and with the entire experience as a whole. If you, or someone you know collect authentic replicas such as this one, then you can trust this one to be what you are looking for.

Helmet is nothing like the picture. I was very disappointed. I have two other helmets and this was supposed to be the center piece. The other two are very realistic but this one is lacking. I can't in faith recommend this product to anyone. Buyer BEWARE.

This is a Great product all steel and just like the movie fits well and is funtional very impressive and a great price really the craftsmenship along comands the current price if not more , anyway perfect for your Gladator costume and beleve me MANY!!!!!! will ask you were did you get that helment

Please dont put the oil stuff on the mask is a mistake to put on polish iron .I`m welder and the best stuff to you put on the mask is a laquer or clear paint transparent paint ...It `s discasting for manutation with the mask and the rust on the few places or positions and it`s second hand with a bump but I accepted for the price and is my suggestion for next buyers and sorry for my bad english language THANK YOU ?
