My german shepherd husky mix had her spaying surgery and did not grasp the concept of the cone like seriously she kept her head on the ground and dragged the cone around like a lamp shade on the floor, it was hilarious but was not going to work for the whole 10 days she would have to have it on. So I decided to try this donut instead. I went with this one over the others because it was 5" wide versus 3" like most. Since she has a longer snout I felt that getting a wider one was necessary.It worked great and she was much more comfortable with this on however her collar sometimes loosens a bit so she was able to get it off. I used string to tie it on tighter which seemed to work until I woke up the next morning to find that she had rotated it around to where the buckle was on her back and then proceeded to break the buckle so she could loosen the pillow rendering it un-effective. Luckily she was never very interested in licking or picking at her scar so we didn't have any issues.I switched her over to the back up surgi snuggly (which is basically a dog leotard) I had bought as well and not only was she comfortable but she looked so friggin cute and recovered quickly!

While very comfortable my girl just was spayed on Monday and she reach everything. She likes it better than the comfy cone because she can see and get to her rear feet and lady parts. She also, broke the closure when I left her for 10 minutes the only reason it is still on is because it went through her collar.

I bought this collar in size Large for my 72 lb. German Shepherd after surgery on a area near her back left hip. Wish this would have worked for her, but she was still able to get around it with her nose and lick her side. Back on with the cumbersome plastic collar of shame. Wish I could have returned this

Item was defective within 1 hour of use, absolutely trash and seller refused return and reimbursement. I would stay away from this puppy, all pun intended!
