Excellent sound, very resistant to exterior noise
I bought these to use with a Yamaha CK88, to save the rest of the house hearing me practise. The sound quality is absoiutely excellent - low bass, superb clarity, with excess treble. The only downside is that I think they're meant for mixing-desk (laptop mixing) use; the spiral cable is a little heavy.

Absolute Workhorse
I first bought a pair of these in 2009... I replaced them in 2024 after 15 years of travel, abuse and heavy use (and the old ones still work fine, they're just gross). I use these primarily for tracking acoustic instruments and vocal parts because they have such low amounts of bleed-through, they are also cheap enough to not worry about getting dropped or damaged, however they are so well made that's not an issue. There are some changes from the originals, but that's all in the foam, the sound signature is very true to my old ones.

Good overall
Had these for 4 or so years, good closed back prevents noise from coming in, the padding is easily replaceable, good sound quality, the main drawback is the lack of detachable cable hence which is unsurprisingly the first thing to go that isn't aesthetic and the stock cable is quite bulky and gets in the way. Can't complain about the rest though.

High quality on a 'budget'
For the average person, this price tag for a set of plastic headphones may seem crazy. For anyone who has owned any Sennheiser product in the past, or even this particular set of headphones, you'll know that for the quality of this set, the price really is amazing. To get any better you'd be spending anywhere above £400, and headphones in the below £50 range will pale miserably in comparison. Build quality is excellent, my last pair lasted 7 years before they finally succumbed to damage (which was completely my fault). Audio quality is fantastic, though it does lack the brain shaking bass that some people will be looking for in particular. If you're looking for a new set of headphones to thoroughly enjoy your music collection, for mixing, or even for gaming, these will not disappoint. One word of warning, the cables that feed into the left ear piece are completely and easily replaceable, as are the pads on the top and ears, but the cable that feeds audio to the right ear is not. This will be the most common point of failure, but it takes considerable effort to damage it. Both earpieces have a large degree of rotation, and extend out to suit your head size. If you have this length set at the maximum and move that right earpiece as far as it will go, both left and right, you will run the risk of damaging this wire far more quickly than usual wear and tear. If you have to fold them up tight for travel, remember not to do so when the ears are at their fully extended distance. If you take care of this headset it will last for a very long time, well past the 2 year warranty. They endured 7 years of car rides, house moves, being dropped, tossed and twisted, but be sure to take care for that right earpiece. Keep that in mind and this set will keep you going through an apocalypse.(This review is for the mk1 version, the mk2 version as I understand it is almost identical besides the difference in foam headpiece. If anything else has changed, so will this review.)

Sennheiser quality.
For the price these headphones are great. Extremely comfortable and lovely detailed sound quality. Cable length was adequate but if using away from the hifi amp you may need to purchase an extension like i did. Would recommend.

Superb clear, rich sound, great value
No way did I expect to enjoy these monitors coming from normally using beats?. They are articulate and perform wonderfully for the price. I dont mind the coiled cable at all for home use and the weight is fine, although the clamping force after a while starts to hurt for my average sized head. They sound stunning, perfect amount of everything for me. Superb value. Be careful with the cable though, if it catches on anything you can't just replace with another which is an annoyance and should be changed sennheiser!. A 3.5mm port would have been great and less clamping force would have made these perfect!.

Dont give up after just a couple of hours
I bought these headphones on the basis of numerous recommendations from recognised youtube reviewers. I very nearly sent these back because of 'that clamp'. However, I persevered for a few hours, and after just a few the whole thing felt way more comfortable. The quality of the sound is excellent, clear (slightly muted treble) but that maybe because of the closed nature of the design. The noise isolation is very good.Excellent value for money and I'm keeping these beauties. My only complaint is irritating coiled cable though which you cant change

Meh... But comfy
Such a shame had really high hopes for these headphones. They were very comfortable even on a big potato head lol but the sound wasn't good enough in my opinion. I got them for game play mainly, watching films from time to time and less often listening to music. I tried them across all 3 and was equally disappointed. They were definitely lacking in bass and just the general sound seemed cheap compared to other headphones I have had previously HyperX headphone were much better for sound and comfort but after wearing them away due to constant use I thought I'd go for a different pair. I sent these back without any issue and am purchasing a different set of headphones that I will review. I will be trying next the Sony WH-1000XM4 noise cancelling ones and reviewing those.
