Cedar Wood Mulch Chips Shavings for Garden- Screech Owl House/Box- Organic Bedding (6 Quart (1.5 Gallon))

I ordered the 3qt to use as mulch for my indoor plants. The shavings are much finer/smaller than I expected but it did fine as mulch. Probably more suited for rabbit bedding than plant mulch.The 3qt must be based on a different measurement system since the amount of product I got was more like 3 cups of shavings. I expected more product.I took off a star for that.

Last summer season my desert roses that line the back of my lanai were all destroyed by bright colored caterpillars with black spines. The Cedar chips in the pots and around the flowers, have worked perfectly on keeping them away without using toxic insecticides

I purchased these cedar chips to use a top my houseplant pots.The natural cedar scent is a deterrent for many insects, including adult fungus gnats, which can frequent houseplant soil. Though the cedar chips don’t affect the larvae, it’s great for preventing the adults from reaching soil to lay more eggs.The scent is strong and smells wonderful. I may use this to make satchels for my drawers and linen closets to help keep the miller moths at bay, too. Cedar is a wonderful and natural insect repellent.Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase. These are a tad pricey for the quantity received, but the product is great for my needs. Should I run out, I’ll definitely buy a few bags again.The cedar chip size is small, and light, which is perfect for covering soil in indoor planters. I don't have a gerbil, so I wouldn't really know. But I bought this thinking it would make a good mulch for the garden and... no. Very thin flakes: they would disappear in no time in the garden. And a very small quantity for the price. I'd need a dozen bags to cover even a small raised bed, and the cost for that would be WAY over budget. Luckily, I was able to return this.

I usually don't write reviews, but this Cedar Shavings are awesome help if you have any gnats on your indoor plants. Thank you for making it!

Our son started selling fire starters (cups and discs). We have tried many variations and nithing burns longer or looks nicer than these quality, thick cedar shavings! We wish there was a way to request smaller pieces without ordering small bags as we have to break down a lot of the bigger pieces which is time consuming and pokes yoyr hands. But still great quality and product.

Didn’t cover much. Four small bags and two covered one plant. Plus seemed like stuff you’d put in a hamster cage vs mulching a plant.
