Bangerz HS-9500 Catcher's Mask Sun Shield

This fit like a charm in my son's catcher's helmet, and really helped with the sun that was coming in from a west facing home plate. Those evening games were killer, and he wears glasses, so sunglasses were not an option. Before the pitch, he was placing his throwing hand over his eyes until the pitcher was in his wind up, then tuck it behind his heel. Needless to say, it's hard to catch the ball if you can't see the ball. This sun shield helped a lot. It was easy to install, fairly easy to keep clean, and if it doesn't get too scratched up, can be used in the next helmet as well. It also helps keep the dust that's always flying around out of his eyes.

My son (10yo) needed to keep the dust out of his eyes when he catches. The glove is dirty and a fastball pops the dirt right in his eyes. For that purpose it works great. We have the smoke color and it works great for night games. It is not too dark which is good. I know some people want a darker one to act as sun glasses but, being a little kid, he plays night games because of school and a darker lens would make it hard to see at night. I like the color the way it is.The only issue I have is that it is not one size fits all. adult masks might fit better but this needed a slight bit of tweeking to get it on the helmet (Easton Black Magic youth). But it was not a huge issue and if your looking for an eye shield this will do the job.Bonus, my kid started on a new team last week and all the other kids thought it was Pro. They had never seen anything like it. Lots of cool points were earned that first day.

My daughter played baseball for eight years before moving to fastpitch softball and was used to wearing a hat on the field, but you can't wear a hat with a facemask. With a little ingenuity we fit this into my daughter's softball face mask to shade her eyes. She now wears it on the field with little complaint.

We put this on a Mizuno mask which it was not made for but we were still able to use it. My son wears contacts and likes that it keeps some of the dirt out of his eyes. It does work well even at night as long as there is enough lights on the ball field.

I received this item in a very timely manner. I immediately opened up the package and was a little disappointed with the thickness of the shield but quickly realized that it has to be thin or it wouldn't bend to form the proper barrier around the cage of of my helmet. After some tinkering with the screws that attach the cage to the helmet, I was able to slip the shield into an appropriate position and then securing the shield with the accompanying zip ties to the cage was a piece of cake!

Been using my smoke shield in my hockey style mask for umpiring. Definitely keeps the sun, dirt and Turfis out of my eyes. Have worn it during misting and light rain. A little tough to get out the water spots afterward. Does it's job. I even have the young catchers asking where they can get one. Thinking of buying in bulk and selling them at tournaments that I umpire in. lol

I ordered Smoke - got Amber. But it worked in my son's youth Boombah hockey style catchers helmet. He really wishes it had been smoke color, but needed it immediately b/c he had camp the day after it arrived and he can't fit his sunglasses under the Boombah helmet.
