Amazfit Active 2 Premium Smart Watch 1.32" Sapphire Glass, GPS, iOS/Android

I don’t understand the obsession with tracking every little thing on a smartwatch, and trying to turn it into a phone that sits on your wrist. They’re also just generally unappealing by design! Therefore, most smartwatches were already a nonstarter for me. I don’t like the form factor of wearable rings either. However, this watch solved a very key problem with my phone addiction: it allowed me to get off my phone and get on with my life. It’s beautifully designed, great for minimalists, customizable watch faces, and has a 10 day battery life between charges. Arrived with a classy leather strap and a red silicone one for working out. In addition, it gives me sleep data! The app it comes with is great. Seriously good deal for the price, and so far, amazing software, mindful hardware design, keeps me off my phone (I almost switched to a dumb phone but this is so much better as the watch can take calls and read text messages), and for music lovers it lets you control your music from your watch. I met another person today who’s had his watch for a year and we both raved about the product and how Amazfit needs to make us ambassadors because we like it so much. Time will tell as I’ve had it for less than a week, but so far, very, very pleased.

Can you give 10 stars? My 3 year old, $300+ dollar FitBit watch died after it got wet (must have gotten a crack somewhere). Anyway, as someone who exercises a lot I wanted another smart watch but this time hopefully a bit nicer looking than the old square FitBit Sense 2. I thought 'For $99 let's try it, I can return if I don't like it.'Ordered it at 10:00 pm the day my watch died, next morning at 7:00 it was here and I was wearing it by 7:30. Just wow, wow, wow. So much better than my FitBit at 1/3rd the price. What I like better: * 14 day battery life - that is legitimate - if you are just wearing (not tracking exercises, etc.) it will last at least 10 days, but usually about 2 weeks. * When tracking an exercise activity - gives me more data, easier to read data, and overall does a better job than my fitbit * Nicer looking - Round instead of square, lots of nice looking standard watch faces - in fact, it looks like a real watch with some of the faces * Stays connected to my Google Pixel - My FitBit did this OK, but regularly it would disconnect from the phone and then you couldn't see weather, it wouldn't update data online to read, etc. This watch, I think it has disconnected maybe once since I purchased it * Charged from 8% to 100% in just over an hour * So many additional options around tracking sleep, taking breaks, tracking oxygen, etc. * My FitBit said 'You got 4 hours of sleep' every day - even though I went to bed at 10:00 and got up at 6:00. I thought I must not sleep well. First night, this one capture 6.8 hours or something - seemed much more accurate * Have not tried to actually make or receive calls on it, but it does let me know when my phone is receiving a call * Can download and play podcasts and music from the watch * Very accurate when tracking a route - I mountain bike, it is always within a half mile of what my bike says mileage ridden after a 15 mile ride So, you can get a square FitBit that looks like a workout watch and spend $250. You can spend $500 or more for an Apple watch - and what if you are an Android user, Apple watch still works, but can't really connect well to my phone. Or, you can get one of these for $99, get as much and more functionality than a FitBit and about the same functionality as an Apple watch. And, for $99, you could buy one for a friend and still save money. The only thing I see is that is not the end of the world. My FitBit would do a good job of tracking steps that maybe weren't actual steps - like when mountain biking, building trails, I always was over 10,000 steps. First day with this watch I figured out - it only tracks steps - so my numbers hover at 5,000 to 6,000 now for steps taken. This is more accurate but I do miss the big numbers! Looking for an easy to use, full functional, smart watch - $99 gets you and awful lot. had I paid $199 I would still be writing the same review. They did not pay me to write this. Today, after I had it charge from 8% to 100% in just over an hour, I thought the seller/manufacturer deserved the review.

This watch checks all the boxes for me. I currently have a Bulova "dress watch", a Timex Ironman Classic 30 digital "utility" watch for everyday use, and a Garmin Forerunner 35 running watch. This watch replaces all three! It actually functions better as a timer and stop watch than my Ironman, having quicker access to the functions I need. It has all the same workout data field customization as my Forerunner, and GPS quickness and accuracy appears to be about the same. The leather band the Premium version comes with is great, but I don't want to run/sweat with leather so I picked up a Milanes Loop style band for it that still looks nice but lets me do everything with one band. The display is fantastic! Out of the box the screen looks as natural as it does in the product photos. Plenty of brightness in broad daylight. The big surprise was having the ability to create custom watch faces - import your own background pictures, make analog hour/minute/second hands look like whatever you want, etc. Can really spend a lot of time here, but the options are virtually endless. Responsiveness is surprisingly snappy. At this price point I expected sluggishness, but haven't experienced that. I also have never owned an Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, etc. so I can't say how this compares. This watch is supposed to have a bunch of health tracking features, but this info is not important to me so I have as many of these turned off to optimize the battery. I have all app notifications off except phone calls, emails, and text messages. Always On Display is off, and I set the shortest possible duration for how long screen stays on after waking. In first few weeks of use, I'm getting about 7 days on a charge. This includes 2-3 30-minute runs (with GPS on, heart rate off). In my observation, a 30-minute run uses about 5-6% of the battery. Besides that I'm seeing a 10-15% battery use per day. I have made and received a couple phone calls. It works. Speaker is pretty quiet. But with connectivity being bluetooth only (no WiFi), you have to be fairly close to your phone anyway so I don't really see a need to take calls from the watch vs the phone. You can respond to text messages fairly easily with voice typing, or you can actually pull up a full size keyboard. Can't type very fast though, it can't process key press very quickly. The only way I have found to send a new text message (as opposed to reply) is using general voice commands ("Send text to XXX"), but there are too many confirmations needed before you get to the point of actually sending a message for this to be worth it for me. Again, having to be near(ish) your phone for the bluetooth connection it's probably easier just texting from phone most of the time. What I really wanted out of this watch was something affordable with basic smart watch functionality but an aesthetic look that doesn't scream SMART WATCH, and so far I'm extremely happy with it!

If you're an iPhone user but don't really care for the techy, gadgety look of the Apple Watch, The Amazfit Active series is a good alternative. It's lightweight, it's a slim, timeless design (no pun intended) and uses standard, easily swappable watch bands. It's a classic look that I enjoy. I purchased the Active 2 Premium Round, which comes with 2 bands: a leather band and a silicone band, and allegedly has sapphire glass instead of tempered. Now, this watch is first and foremost a fitness tracker. As I am not a whey protein guzzling gym bro, I cannot speak about the fitness features with much authority. The thing throws words at me like HYROX, VO2 MAX, Hybrid Charge, and my eyes just glaze over. There are plenty (maybe too many) YouTube videos that explain all that, but I'll stick to the features I actually use and understand. Pros: The battery lasts for DAYS on a single charge. Maybe over a full week if you keep the brightness lower. So with the longer battery life (unlike some watches), you can actually use the sleep tracking feature! There is an always-on display option, but it cuts your battery life to about 2 days in my experience. The screen is bright and colorful. It's not the brightest on the market, but sufficient. Good contrast. The "raise to view" function works every time. (I've had watches previously that would fail at this basic function.) Phone notifications come through instantly. You can take calls on your watch. Not really something I care about, but I suppose it's a good feature to have. All your health telemetry syncs with Apple Health app, so step count, heart rate, sleep quality, and much more shows up as expected. The watch autodetects workouts and syncs with other Fitness apps like Strava. I'm a cyclist and use Strava to track rides, and to my surprise, it populates your activities into Strava with little to no interaction required. The somewhat smaller 44mm watch face doesn't look completely stupid on my smaller wrists. I'm a male, but not every male has tree trunk arms, and this size watch fits me perfectly. Cons: You cannot reply to text messages on iPhone. That's not Amazfit's fault, that's just Apple's walled garden. But don't be fooled. I've seen posts saying there are workarounds - there are not. You CAN use a third party app to reply to FACEBOOK or WHATSAPP messages, but there is nothing that works specifically with Apple's Messages app. The UI could use some improvements and polish, and some of the controls are inconsistent. What I would call the "home" button does not work universally in all apps which can make navigating menus and apps a bit confusing. This model does not have wifi. So syncing data (apps, watch faces, etc) is done over Bluetooth so it does take much longer. There is a built-in AI assistant. I do not use it nor want it. I would prefer if there was an option to disable it completely. It isn't too intrusive, but it does show up on notifications. Conclusion: Is it a 1:1 replacement for the functionality of the Apple Watch? No.. Does it supply enough functionality to replace the Apple watch to my personal satisfaction? Yes. And for the price, the Amazfit brand is probably the absolute best value watch on the market. I recommend the watch if you fall into the slender category of people that prefer iPhone but also prefer an alternative to the (subjectively) ugly Apple Watch. And if you happen to also appreciate the plethora of fitness tracking features, well that's just gravy.

Day 5 and, as you can see, I still have 61% left on the battery. That is most excellent. I only use the watch to measure steps/distance walking every morning, for the occasional pulse and O2 readings and for telling the time, so my battery life is going to be a lot better than someone who uses all the athletic or GPS functions, but I really like the watch. I especially like the crystal and the stainless body, very nice looking. This is watch #3 for me. There really is a huge difference between the cheaper watches and this one. I'm pretty sure they all use basically the same electronics, but the internal software is different and the companion apps are completely different. That is where you see the biggest difference. You certainly get what you pay for. The ZEPP companion app with this watch is excellent and very easy to use and it's pretty simple to set up the watch to do exactly what you want it to. This watch measures miles and not just steps and those measurements are actually pretty accurate. The pulse and O2 measurements are also really accurate. I don't care a whole lot about measuring my sleep, but those readings also seem to be very close to reality. The other two watches; both of them a lot cheaper, were not accurate in the least and were very inconsistent even with themselves. All in all, I'd say this is a big thumbs up. OK, now it's been almost a month and I still feel the same way about the watch. I did buy a different band for it, but those things are minor. As you can see, the sapphire glass is still flawless in spite of me being somewhat hard on things. I'm still able to get more than a week out of the watch before charging, which means that I can charge it whenever it's convenient for me. The sleep measurements have been surprisingly accurate and the distance walking is also really good. Still, a nice watch IMHO.

I bought this watch for my early high school son, who is a track athlete and he absolutely loves it. I honestly don't know how this can come in so much lower in price than an Apple Watch. Between the sapphire crystal (no scratches yet), 2000 nit AMOLED display, the 10 day battery life (which is more like 7 if you use a lot of the functions), all the different sensors, and more and better free faces than Apple watches, it is a steal. The other day I thought I heard him talking on the phone but it was actually through his watch using bluetooth- I didn't even know it can do that because I figured it was a just a premium activity tracker with a nice display, but it definitely does toe-to-toe with Apple and Galaxy watches. This premium version comes with 2 bands, and when wearing the leather band with an analog face, everyone just thinks it is a regular analog watch- and I bought him 5 more colored silicone bands from Amazon for $12. If you work out to music and don't carry your phone, it does have an anemic amount of storage for downloads, but we always carry our phonesso it is not an issue. We need to use it longer to assess durability, but assuming it will last 2-3+ years, I would definitely recommend this watch, and would consider the more rugged models in the future to replace my Apple Watch Ultra.

I'm really enjoying this watch. I'm pleasantly surprised with the Zepo app. It has a lot of metrics that I've found useful. I recently had surgery, and it's been interesting to see how my sleep and activity were affected and to watch my scores begin to return to normal. Also, because I'm trying to eat more protein to help with healing, the app makes it easy to track my macros. The battery life is great. It typically lasts about a week or 8 days, but if I track a lot of exercise, I do have to charge a day or two sooner. I have a small wrist, and it doesn't overwhelm my wrist and look ridiculous, but it's large enough to be easy to use the screen. I used to have a Tic watch, which they stopped making,but it stopped charging after a few years. I did look at other Google OS watches, but I couldn't find one that had as many features as the Amazfit Active 2 for about the same price. I also really prefer not to have to charge it as frequently. The ecosystem isn't quite as rich as the Google os, but I miss very little. And since I bought it during the Prime sale, I was pleased with the price. The watch looks good, and there are a lot of alternative straps available (I wasn't a fan of the straps that came with the watch). I compared heart rate, respiration, and oxygen saturation using a finger pulse-ox meter, and the watch matched up almost perfectly. The one thing that I found strange is that the watch will sometimes think I'm napping when I'm just sitting quietly and reading. That's a little annoying. Overall, I really like the watch and would recommend it.

I’m happy with my watch; it’s simple, lightweight, and stylish all at once. Highlights: It came with two straps—one sporty and one elegant (be sure to check out the nylon or magnetic options, as well as a protective cover to give it a sportier look). The battery lasts a week. The charging system is very simple. There are plenty of watch face options in the store. The price. Downside: You don't have access to the Play Store, and the only available apps are within the Zepp (Amazfit) app. The Zepp app covers the basics, but don't expect much more than that.

Bought this to replace my Fitbit which broke, having lasted less than 18 months. Sick of poor quality Fitbit I decided to move away from them and did a lot of research before settling on this beauty. What can I say, it outshines my old fitbit in every way and cost less too. It looks better, the quality and build seem better, like it might actually last longer, and the zepp app which comes with it is brilliant. The insights are great, again, way more detailed than Fitbit! The watch itself has a really clear, bright screen, and even displays photos and videos! I can even get my ring doorbell on it. It's very versatile to suit your needs, with so many different features and there's lots of clock faces to choose from to personalise it, some free, some paid. It was really easy to set up and connect to my phone. Battery life is insane too, I've just gone 10 days since my first charge without charging it. I've just now put it on charge, it was still on 25% so not desperate (for this watch anyway). I cannot recommend this watch enough for looks, versatility, ease of use, battery life, and price point. It looks way more expensive than it is! I do recommend buying screen protectors though as this watch does have a glass screen.

Pleasantly surprised with this watch. I had an Apple Watch Series 6 which I love but was getting tired of having to charge it every day. Did some research and came across Amazfit. Instead of the more expensive models, I thought I’d try with the active 2. For under $200, this thing does basically everything I want it to and more. Tons of watch faces, battery life is awesome and it looks great. Definitely recommend. Works well with iOS. Gets all my notifications and can make/take calls. I wanted to be able to set alarms and timers with my voice and it does that perfectly. Great little watch.
