At first, I reconstituted this with water that was too hot, so it melted and stuck to the strainer. It was quite tasty, though. I now add one serving size to my scrambled egg powder mix and it makes perfect scrambled eggs. This is great and light-weight for camping.

This stuff is SO good... it has the volume, color, shape, and FLAVOR of 'hydrated' cheddar cheese. Being single, this is great to avoid waste with regular packages in the store. I can get what I want and just zip the bag back closed- no worries about not having cheese when I want it, and no waste. Only problem is that it is really good as it is out of the bag !

I wish I had known about this outstanding product in my early days of climbing. Take flour tortilla, spinach, dried cheese, Machaca and coffee on the side. Great trail breakfast. Wrap in foil and toss on fire or in pan over camp stove. Put crumpled foil in pan to elevate wrapped tortilla and prevent burning in dry pot or pan with lid. Mini oven. You need to sell this to the Military as a kit for Taco Tuesdays.Better than good, it's GREAT !

This is probably a good product to stock in your survival pantry but it really doesn't have much taste. It's not bad but it's not great either. It would be convenient to take camping or hiking. If you're hungry enough, it will probably taste good. Right out of the bag, it's crunchy. I didn't have much success getting it to melt.

I used this cheese for an 11 day backpacking trip. I added it to my home dehydrated foods such as chili and breakfast burritos. Cheese does not dehydrate well because of the fat content. If you need cheese for backpacking, this is it.
