Great starter. Better than the original.
I love it when you find something on Amazon for sooooo...much cheaper than in stores!. I went to a small engine repair shop locally which wanted over $50 for a replacement pull starter assembly for my father-in-law's generator. I paid closer to $20 for this aftermarket part which works better than the original. The cord of the original slipped out and got caught in the magneto and broke the mechanism inside the starter and warped the bearing. None of which was designed to be replaced. The only real option was to buy the whole starter assembly. After being disappointed at the high price in store I figured I could check online and found this guy on Amazon. I priced a few other places online also and Amazon had the best price and of course 2 day shipping. No brainer.After installing this one I found that I actually like the pull handle more than the OEM part and the mechanism itself operates smoother than the old one. Probably in part because it's new! We'll see how it holds up but I'm not expecting any issues. The pull cord inside seems strong and durable so I didn't replace it with anything better. Overall a great aftermarket part I'd highly recommend. Just check to make sure it will work for your engine before you buy.

Works better than the original.
Had issues with the starter on my old chipper shredder. Noticed that one of the starter pawls came off on the old one. Now starts like it used to. Easy to replace. Mine was only 4 bolts.

Perfect fix
This product fit and performed like OEM. It's amazing how some things such as this can be purchased for less than $20, and have to pay $40 for a much simpler item with no moving parts. I slowly pulled the sticker off the old unit and it re-adhered to the new one.
