A post-apocalyptic story of survival in a surreal prison built in the ruins of Tokyo. Framed for the brutal murders of his classmates by the mysterious Red Man, middle school student Ganta Igarashi finds himself sentenced to death and sent to the bizarre and fatal theme park/prison that has risen from the ruins of the Great Tokyo Earthquake—a hell on earth known as “Deadman Wonderland.” With their leader captured, Scar Chain’s uprising is thwarted by the Undertakers. Deadman wonderland is a gruesome, graphic, adult look at a privatized prison where inmates are forced to play deadly games to survive. I personally loved this series, plenty of gore, language, and dark themes kept me drawn in. I saw the anime before I read the manga, and the two tie very closely together thankfully. Must buy if you like dark, graphic stories!

Rolling my eyes to the back of my head
This was one of the better books so far. There is still a lot of surreal bs you have to roll your eyes at, but its tolerable if youre this far. The quick flashback monologues are getting a little more interesting here, although the idea of character development feels non existent, and motives feel all out of wack. Like why is crow (Ban from seven deadly sins) strong and looking for a fight but throwing against the protag to start the series? Or youre telling me that Owl just surpressed a traumatic experience that was easily provoked by a hallucinogen, but then he was broken out of it like he was in a trance? Yeah, ill just continue to roll my eyes at the absurdity.
