The Leaf is a sleep, activity and reproductive health monitor that helps you cope with stress through built-in breathing exercises. This smart piece of jewelry works as a tracking system for your health and provides insights and helpful reminders to keep you on track. Monthly cycles (fertile days, ovulation, period, and contraception intake) are tracked through the app so that you can have greater awareness of your reproductive health. It can be worn as a necklace, a bracelet, or a clip. The Leaf syncs with the app and all of your data is transferred wirelessly. It also vibrates to remind the user to either be more active based on her set preferences.

The Leaf: Pros & Cons
I purchased my leaf directly from Bellabeat in the very first group, so I have physically had it since July. I LOVE it. I had previously owned an entry level fitbit and when the preorder for the Leaf came floating around the Internet I was intrigued. I hated that with the fit it I owned I could only wear it on my wrist, and it was an ugly rubber strap. Sometimes a girl wants to put fashion before function!Enter the Leaf! This thing is CUTE. And gives you options on how to wear it: bracelet, necklace, or clip to clothing. Beneficial on days/for activities you don't want bull on your wrist, if you want it hidden (sometimes I clip mine to my bra or an undershirt), or if you're looking for a cute accessory that is functional. I get complimented on it ALL THE TIME. I do wear it on my wrist the majority of the time, but have worn it all ways and liked it.Functionality pros:It's not required to sync it daily. It keeps your information recorded in its memory for up to two weeks. I've only ever gone one week without syncing, and it was ALL THERE. unlike my fitbit where if I didn't sync it before midnight, my remaining info from the day was gonzo. The battery lasts quite awhile. I changed mine in February and had been using it since July when I received it. Well done! I love that you can set activity reminders and silent alarms. I have a desk job, so it's good to get a little encouragement to get up and stretch my legs. I've also used silent alarms when I don't want to have to have a loud alarm on my phone. They give you the option for tracking steps or active time, whichever your preference. Sleep tracking is pretty accurate, and if you're syncing it daily it prompts you and asks if the times it calculated are right (and you can manually change it if it's not). Period tracking is basic, but great. I was using another app specifically for that, but have found this to be enough now. The app gives you health pointers and encouragement daily.They really are all about the user.General cons/things I wish it had or did:The bracelet that came with it initially was not long enough for someone with big wrists. I had to stretch mine and wear it for brief amounts of time before going to full time with it. I wish there were size options for that (EDIT: I've been told by Bellabeat that they do have options now! Yay!). I wish the app would allow you to add naps, like the fitbit can add/detect naps. (EDIT: THEY HAVE IT NOW!!!! YAY!) It does not track heart rate either, but they'd likely have to charge much more for a feature like that. There have been issues and glitches with the app and things, but I do find those minor because when you're with something from day one, you expect there to be bumps in the road. They made tons of changes based on customer feedback and wishes. The app has come a long way, and I know they aren't finished developing.ONE OF THE BEST THINGS OF ALL:THE DEVELOPERS LISTEN. when you're having problems, when you have questions, when you have suggestions. They care. They respond. They work to change things about the app or what the device can do. And they make you feel important. Who wouldn't want to support a product or company like that?

I'd like to take a moment to share my experience with this treasure, that is my leaf. After spending years caring for everyone else, not taking care of myself and feeling rather wretched that I had allowed myself to tip the scales at an alarming 296 lbs, I stumbled upon an add for the leaf on Facebook. "Make yourself a priority" is what stuck in my brain. Mother of two young children, recently widowed, and have a small farm...I forgot to take care of ME. The message and the natural beauty and the simple benefits this little treasure has provided to MY DAILY LIVING has been of immense value to me. Today I'm at 247 lbs...I've done the work bUT this leaf has held me to a positive accountability that I've never had the pleasure of experiencing before. My next goal is 235 lbs. With the my desire to see the bars climb every day, to try the myriad of ways it offers to burn calories, I'm certain I'll be there very soon and then strive for the next goals to follow. If your thinking about this leaf, I hope you consider the possibilities within yourself by using its guidance to make yourself a priority every single day. Many blessings to each of you!

Beautiful jewelry, but lousy activity tracking
So everything about the leaf is beautifully designed... packaging, apps, accessories are all great quality and very beautiful. The dark wood and shiny rose gold is very visually appealing, and just felt nice to wear. Setup was easy, much like setting up an apple watch or fitbit. I REALLY wanted to love this device but it just doesn't suit my needs. I am an active mom with a two year old and two additional daycare kids. My daily activity is stop-go-stop-go, and unfortunately the device does not "recognize" any activity that is less than 5 minutes in length. So as I chase toddlers, wipe noses, change diapers, do the dishes, prepare meals, pick up toys, run up and downstairs, it thinks I am inactive. Well, sorry little leaf, that doesn't fly for me. I had wanted something to track my activity that wasn't a sporty rubber, "Hey I'm wearing a fitness tracker!" bracelet. This looked lovely and had pretty good reviews so I wanted to give it a try. My conclusion: Very nice jewelry, very lousy tracker. If you are only interested in tracking your sustained, uninterrupted walks or workouts (not walks with toddlers in tow) then maybe this could work. But I am seeking more than that. After all, I can already do that with my smartphone and one of many free apps. As one review pointed out, it doesn't even count your trips to the grocery store! I don't need any more jewelry and for me that is simply all it was. I will keep looking and waiting for an attractive-looking activity tracker, and in the meantime this won't be collecting dust in my jewelry box. Sadly, back to Amazon it goes... 😕daily walks which i can already track for free wih ny iphone and any number of apps. So I am sending it back

Tolle Optik und Funktion, aber nicht ganz das, was ich gesucht habe
Das Leaf ist sehr wertig und schön gearbeitet. Es zählt Schritte, wie es soll und lässt sich gut mit der App verbinden und synchronisieren.Leider habe ich es nicht geschafft, es mit meinem IPhone über Health zu verknüpfen, was mir wichtig gewesen wäre. Hab aber auch nicht besonders lange ausprobiert, wie es gehen könnte.Die App hatte mir zu viel „Schnickschnack“ und das Leaf war für meinen Stil einen Ticken zu groß als Armband.Aber die Idee, in ein Schmuckstück einen Tracker zu bauen, finde ich nach wie vor super, auch wenn ich diese Version dann schweren Herzens zurück geschickt habe.

Great product for enhancing a healthy lifestyle
Super product. I bought it for my wife and she loves it (her words exactly). She uses it to monitor the majority of her activities and in activities, like sleep :-) and the software/app is easy to use and understand.If using the chain or a string to wear it, be aware that it can slide off because the metal leaf on the front is not attached to prevent this from happening. The thicker your chain/string the better. Otherwise she has no complaints.
