I bought this because my cat's gums were red and inflamed and this has honestly been the only thing that specifically addresses gums and not teeth in felines. People had frustrations with the consistency of the product (you have to open the pill and squeeze it out) but I just stick it in my pocket for a few minutes, maybe 15 or 20 minutes, and it's warm and gooey. The other night I had forgotten to do this and I needed to get to bed so I put it just under a lamp with a traditional light bulb.It was a think liquid a few minutes later so it was very easy to get out. Honestly, just warm it up a bit and the thickness won't be an issue.I squirt this directly on my cat's gums, or at least the part of his gums he will allow me to reach. We had been doing this routine about every other day like the box recommends, but I honestly forgot several times. I had noticed a difference but then forgot more times and it went back to red and irritated. Turns out he has more of a autoimmune issue so his gums can't get healthy without extensive extraction. I will say, however, that I have ramped up the frequency of doses to nightly and I'm starting to see an improvement again. He will still likely need all of his teeth removed but I'm hoping this will lessen the difficultiy once he's under for the surgery and that it will hasten his recovery. He hates it but it's tasteless (some squirted in my mouth once) and slightly numbing so even if it only assist him a tiny bit in the long run it's worth the minor drop in discomfort when he gets it on his poor little inflamed gums.

I have a 7 yr old Toy Poodle suffering from "CUPS" aka Stomatis and although I thought I had it under control, it flared up a week ago (Wednesday before Thanksgiving) so I immediately ordered this product and coincidentally *"thankfully* it arrived first thing Friday a.m. I applied it (2x a day for a wk) and my dog seemed to feel better within a few hrs the very first day. I am also using a very effective product with it. called "HEALTHY GUM" by Eveyday Vet, (it contains all sorts of very beneficial, natural herbs) but that has only been for a few days and my dog responded within 1 day of treatment with EFAC--to the point of chewing hard biscuits, chews, etc.. So, at this point I was not only able to avoid another unexpected tremendous vet bill (right before Christmas), but more importantly my precious little dog had immediate relief.And yet another great product I've found here on Amazon for this horrific disease is called Plaque Off. I had been using it religiously, but slacked off, which explains the flare-up. So now I've gone back to daily usage. Hopefully that, along with daily brushing is going to be all that is needed this time.Another concern I have about avoiding the vet, beyond the cost, is that twice I have noticed weird things after she has had tooth extractions and cleanings. For one, she grew another toe with a little toenail on her front leg where the IV was, the first time. Then, after the second cleaning, a wart developed on her muzzle. While undergoing the 3rd cleaning, I had the vet remove it, but it started growing back (a yr later) until I used Thuja and Vitamin E, topically. Obviously, my dog's immune system cannot handle the poisonous chemicals that are used in these procedures, and I personally think should be avoided if at all possible.

This stuff is absolutely amazing!! I am impressed. I brushed my 10 yr old dogs teeth twice daily, but tarter and plaque would still build up, and she would get red, inflamed gums as an unfortunate result. After consulting with an expert (ie. Google), I was presented this product, and bought it after reading the positive reviews.After the first month, my dogs gums were no longer red or inflamed, her teeth were brighter and healthier. Impressive. I loved the results so much, I bought a second box of them, and soon I'll buy a third and fourth. These have significantly improved my dogs oral health. The teeth cleaning process I use is as follows, I brush her teeth morning and night with a small toothbrush and saliva-based enzymatic paste, I use a water pick (on soft-setting) after the evening brushing, then add this EFAC Formula to her gums just before bed. This combination has worked wonders!! This is a must have for all pet dental kits!

I BOUGHT THIS ITEM TO SEE IF IT WOULD HELP MY CAT,WHO HAS BEEN HAVING PERIODONTAL ISSUES FOR A LONG TIME.WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH A VET AND HAVE USED A LOT OF MEDICINE,WHICH HAS NOT BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL. BECOMING TIRED OF THE EXPENSE AND THE POOR CATS' SUFFERING,I DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE A MORE NATURAL APPROACH. I HAVE BEEN USING THIS ITEM 3X/WEEK FOR A FEW WEEKS AND HIS INFLAMED AREAS ARE LESS RED AND HE SEEMS MORE COMFORTABLE WHEN EATING.HOPING THAT HE WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE.

The vet recommended this for my rough collie who's been having gum problems for years. She's had her teeth scraped under sedation twice(she's 6 1/2), I brush, I use Yak Milk bites, seaweed, Greenies, probiotics, and I brush her every day, but nothing was working. Her gums stayed red and enflamed. I started using spreading EFAC on her teeth ever night and after three days her gums were only half as red. Three days! I even had an electric(mild) toothbrush for my dog! I was beyond skeptical because I'd used everything anyone recommended, and this is the first thing that's actually helped. Of course my dog hates when I do it, but then again she's pretty skittish about anything coming at her mouth any more. I will be ordering more of the EFAC because I get the feeling my dog will be on it for life. Thank goodness something finally worked.
