It's Okay
I guess you can't really expect much from a camping pad, I mean it's not like a bed you would regularly sleep on. That being said, I was hoping for something a bit better. First off, the only time I can tell this thing is self inflating is when I'm trying to put it away. It never seems to inflate when I first set it up, and even if it does I can't feel a difference. The rocks still feel like rocks on my back. However it becomes the greatest pain when trying to put it away because the storage back it came with (which is trash, by the way) is so small there's no way it will fit even if there's just a bit of air. The problem is that this sucks in air just as fast as I can push it out while rolling it up.I mentioned the bag. As I said before, it's trash. The stitching that holds the whole thing together is awful, and doesn't stand up to very much pressure at all. Perhaps I am a bit too aggressive, but when I put away camping gear I have a tendency to stuff. Like sleeping bags in their stuff sacks, tents in their bags, or other sleeping mats in their stuff sacks. That wasn't such a good policy with this, however. When I stuffed the pad into the sack, the whole sack just burst apart. So I ended up tying up the pad with some 550 cord, which isn't so bad but is pretty annoying. One other note, the pillows are very uncomfortable. I mean I know it's just air, but it's better just to bring some pillows or sleep with your head on the ground. The pillows are a nice thought but not very well executed at all.All in all, it works, but only barely.

Not self-inflating and Very Heavy but AMAZING customer service
Very heavy and NOT SELF-INFLATING. We had to blow the entire thing up ourselves. Even after inflating it and leaving it overnight, when I deflated and tried to re-inflate the next day, the "self-inflating" foam core did nothing. Would not buy again.UPDATE: I have spoken with the seller and they have been outstanding! So helpful and willing to work with me. I guess the sleeping pad I received may have been defective and they will speak with the manufacturer about this. They offered me a full refund and quickly replied to all replies and concerns. Because of this service, I am changing my review from 1 star (for the defective pad) to 4 stars (for amazing customer service).

It would be great for shorter-term use
My memory foam matters keeps sinking, which became uncomfortable. I bought this to put over the top/ under the sheet to offer a little extra support. It worked really well. I only give it four stars because I keep knocking the inflation valve, causing it to deflate (though it automatically re-inflates once I get up). It would be great for shorter-term use, I think, but because have been using it every night for two months, I notice the little things like the valve. But, for the price and comfort, it is very good. It has some foam inside, so even when not inflated, it offers some support.

We didn't like the inflatable pillows that much and were hoping the ...
We used this sleeping pad for a 3 night camping trip in temperatures that probably touched freezing at night. We never felt the cold floor and the pad stayed inflated the whole time. We didn't like the inflatable pillows that much and were hoping the pad inflated underneath the pillows so we could just use them flat, but there is no inflation underneath. It is self inflated but you have to give it a few extra puffs and it won't feel totally full, but it's good enough. Overall, it's a pretty great purchase considering how pricey these can get!

The blow up is easy enough.
Just took pad camping for the first time. The blow up is easy enough...take down is a little trickier as it may take rolling it two times to actually get the air out (it took one the first time we blew it up, and two the second time for some reason). Pad was very comfortable and plenty big enough for two people who aren't spooning. Pad is also fairly well insulated, as I had to lay directly on it with sheets over me but not under me, and I had no trouble sleeping on a chilly night. Pad is way too heavy and bulky for backpacking...so if weight is an issue, stick with two separate backpacking pads: (Klymit Insulated Static V LITE 4 Season Sleeping Pad, Orange/Gray...very good single pad)I look forward to using this frequently for car camping with my family.

First use takes a while to expand
I know it says it in the instructions, but I would HIGHLY recommend opening it up and letting it expand all the way before you take it on a trip. It does take a while to expand the first time, I helped it go a little faster by blowing into the valves, but would have been better if I had read the instructions before going on my overnight.Otherwise, it worked great! Was plenty roomy for my 8 year old nephew and I to share, and the separate pillows worked great to inflate only as much as we each wanted separately for softness.Rolled back up and fit into the carry bag without a problem. All in all, would DEFINITELY buy this again!

good for a thin sleeping matt
these sleeping pags were semi- self inflating but they are exactly as described. They are about 3/4th of an inch thick, they do provide some cousin but if you are looking for something squishy and comfortable you might want to get something thicker or an air mattressed. My boyfriend and I used these as ground insulation when it was cold out. We were not using them as an air mattress replacement. They got the job done.

Decent pad for the money - wouldn't recommend for side sleepers
Packs up decently small although not as small as more expensive ones. It does pretty well for insulation, I never felt cold while camping in Iceland and by bodies of water as well. It's fairly comfortable on your back or stomach but definitely would not recommend this for side sleepers like me. I would toss and turn all night switching sides because my hips hurt a lot. It's overall pretty decent for a cheap pad but I went for an expensive pad this time and got the Sea-to-Summit comfort pad which is incredible although much pricier, no doubt.
