Color:Blue Danelectro’s most famous guitar, now with NOS+ pickups! A new pickup which retains the character of the original NOS pickups but with better highs, punchier mids, and solid lows. A must have for any player serious about tone.

Nice surf guitar
Out of the box, I was quite impressed with this guitar. I'm an intermediate level player, and own a few mid-range to higher end instruments. This is one of the very few guitars I've ever bought that was ready to go out of the box. The setup was excellent (only a slight tuning adjustment needed) and the fretwork perfect. Hardware is good, and the nut is metal (and really nicely done). As for finish, it is even with no flaws. The orange is a "creamsicle" with the white being a pure white. The white pickguard is about 1/4" thick and nicely fitted. The only thing I didn't care for was the white band around the body is actually a textured vinyl, with the effect being that someone put a band of drawer-liner around the guitar. It creates an edge and takes away from the overall excellent finish-work (in my opinion) but it also adds a vintage appeal that some may like.Electronics are good, there is a slight 60-cycle hum that is present on the bridge pickup (only). I suspect there is a bad solder joint associated with that pickup. In all fairness I was testing on my Fender Blues Jr, which seems to be very sensitive and if there is a hum anywhere in a guitar it will find it. The volume/tone knobs are stacked, and you might have to lift the volume knobs slightly so that the tone knob will turn independently.Overall, if your buying this guitar you probably know the story behind the "NOS" pickups and the "plywood" construction. Don't let that turn you away. The sustain on this thing is nothing short of phenomenal, and I found that after a few minutes of getting used to the neck and string spacing it is a joy to play. If you're on the fence, go for it.

The 59' reissue retains everything I loved about the original with all the flaws fixed.
I once owned an original. The 59' reissue retains everything I loved about the original with all the flaws fixed. The new electronics have the lipstick tube sound without all the noise and feedback of the original. The new bridge and tuners are a massively better, allowing for low action and stable tuning. It even has a metal nut. The paint, fit and finish are all great.

Just get it...
Simply one of the best guitars I've owned. Unique sound, feels fantastic to play... True it doesn't feel very solid and is extremely light, but that's because it's chambered. Own a Gibson Les Paul, Fender Strat (Mexican), Tele, Gretch, and a Supro... Supro is my favorite, but this one is right there with it.

Great value and tone
This guitar has a great tone and sustain. I did not expect so much from a guitar that cost so little. It has earned its place on the wall with the les Paul and american strat. The neck takes some getting used to but its worth it.

I love the guitar
I love the guitar. It's still very new and have a little trouble keeping it in tune but for the price it's definitely the coolest guitar.

Super cool guitar
Exceeded expectations. Guitar had a great setup out of the box. Mine came from CME through Amazon so I bet they did a setup on it. Great sound and a vibe all it's own. Highly recommended.

wonderful instrument
I got the Baby Blue model, and it is a gem!!..didnt have to do any intonation adjustment or setup, it was perfect right out of the box. Stays in tune quite well. I play it through a small Fender Mustang amp and use an Ammoon looper pedal to lay down tracks I can practice lead lines overtop of. I am very happy with this instrument and highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one.
