It works!
It does what it promises and was quick to setup. This was the lowest price ($19) of its kind when I bought it. I already had another one of these under a different brand, but the body is exactly the same, as is the software. In fact, (I can only speak for android) I suggest downloading the Amcrest app instead of the one listed by this product, mostly because the Amcrest is actually on Google Play, it seems to get updated periodically, and they replaced the dumb 1-7 days with good old S M T W T F S.For anyone having issues connecting to their wifi I would suggest these few things:1. Make sure auto-correct is not adding any spaces or undue capitalization with your network name or password2. Don't try to use this with a 5 Ghz wifi network, 2.4 works just fine3. Give your phone time to settle on the SP3 network and make sure it doesn't reconnect to the main wifi before starting the setup processI wish it had usage statistics (V, A & W), but it does not claim to have that function and those devices are typically +$10-15 at least. As these continue to fall in price, I'll probably pick up a few more, they are compact, cheap and so far reliable, but what I really want is the in wall smart switches and plugs!

Good Product, Looks the same? They are the same.
I bought the Amcrest version of this product to control a light for our birds.Once I got it connected to our network it was very easy to set up and has been working perfectly for the last week.It is much smaller than the timer I was using before.Easy to setup on/off times.I wanted to buy more of the Amcrest for my IP cameras but it immediately went out of stock. There are at least two other brands with almost identical images on Amazon: Kankun and Bestope. They are the same product and I was able to set them up using the same app. They all three show up and are controllable from the Amcrest app.I tried downloading the Kankun app and it worked as well.Works from anywhere, including remote from local network.I can control the light from my Android phone or pad at home or away. The instructions are not great but they mostly get you there.Setup is the trickiest part.Fortunately, it is very easy to reset the device and try again. It took a couple of tries to get connected to my network.I found it easier to do from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S pad than my Note 4 phone. That may be related to the way the phone works with the network. They do not give you the MAC address for the device.I use a MAC filter on my network.I had to disable that, find it on my network, add it to my filter accept list, then turn the filter back on.I wanted to buy more of the Amcrest for my IP cameras but it immediately went out of stock.Thre are at least two other brands with almost identical images on Amazon: Kankun and Bestope.I bought one of each.Pros:Works well both local and remote.Smaller than most timers.Cons:Instructions are not great.

Very Good. Higher Current Rating Than The Wemo.
Looked at the Wemo, but my espresso machine is minimally 1800 watts, 1900 when the heating element and pump run simultaneously, so the Wemo was borderline. This unit, for about half the price, is also sold in Europe, so the current rating is quite a bit higher (watts x voltage) than the Wemo.Got it and it works fine. The software is a bit glitchy. Sometimes you have to make multiple attempts to get it to switch on or off. Works over your wifi local network, or over any network connection anywhere, 3g, 4g, or wifi to allow you to control your device(s).One star penalty because the app isn't as solid as one would wish-- not awful, but some patience is necessary sometimes to successfully turn your appliance on or off over a network. The UI (user interface) on the app is not terrible, but watch out for needing to both turn on a little switch (like to activate delays-- upper right corner in that view) AND then hitting <SAVE> also. It's redundant and counterintuitive, so you may think you've initiated an action when you haven't. You get a confirmation message when it's successful, but it only flashes very briefly on the screen and the typeface is not very large, so it's easy to miss.Main switch turns green when your appliance is on, red when it's off. If you are not sure, refresh (upper right, circular arrow icon) and verify.Overall, a good unit that works as advertised. There's a Google group into hacking this unit, also, in case that sort of thing appeals to you.

I've had this device for a little over 2 years, every day turning on and off a set of lizard lamps (don't ask) totaling over 500W. Recently it stopped turning the lights off and on per the schedule - once I reset the schedule it was back to working like a charm. I assume it had somehow gotten reset to the factory default. It had been so long since I had set the schedule that I didn't have the app anymore. Why 4 stars instead of 5? The app is terrible, it can take quite a few tries to get the device connected to your WIFI and input your schedule. And yes, by default it works by connecting to a Chinese server (you can disable that if you are at all technically inclined - there are sites dedicated to customizing/hacking it). However, once you get it working it is an attractive and dependable little device that only takes up one outlet plug and is rated for 10amps.
